Dozens Of Call Center Workers Quit Over McCain Attacks

At least three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.

Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."

Lake County, IN has been in a recession for years. Jobs are very scarce. What these workers did was noble and principled, especially under the financial circumstances in the region.

Mcain has been using code words to spew hate and division for a long time but no one called him on it. He started the fire burning. When he selected Palin she just threw gasoline on the fire. There is no way I can vote for anyone who wants to create division in our country. When you see the gleam in McCain's eyes he is talking about hate, division or war. Please people go to the polls we cannot have another Bush in the white house. We have suffered long enough.

It's pretty scummy when your robo calls/live voices are such disgusting lies that dozens of people quit their jobs rather than dirty their mouths with the words. The McCain of 2000 would be angry and ashamed of the McCain of 2008.

Good for them. It's heartening to see people rejecting these types of slimeball tactics all across the country & it's one of the big reasons McCain-Palin are going to lose this election big time. Hopefully, just as big, greedy corporations started "going green" when they finally realized that doing things in an environmentally sound way can be profitable, Republicans will discover that they will fare better in elections when they run clean campaigns. Of course, if they don't have any real issues to run on, they'll lose anyway...
