Chicago's restaurants produce hundreds of pounds of organic slop a day that could be used to make rich compost. But most ends up with other garbage in the dump . Now, though, the year-old Green Chicago Restaurant Cooperative plans to start a compost pilot program it announced at its annual meeting over breakfast last week Thursday at Ina's in the West Loop at which 75 of the groups 150 members showed up to be briefed on the group's progress.
