Congrats Charles. Make sure you run the kind of campaign Obama has run. That will serve you well. And if you get the Democratic Nomination, the infrastructure that Howard Dean and Obama have set up in that state will be at your fingertips.
Much success.
But he left the party and is now a Democrat..
Charles Barkley is a nice guy and was a hell of an athelete back in the day but he is less qualified than Sarah Palin and has about as many skeleton's in the closet.
This is the funniest thing I've heard all day.
Go Charles Go!!
Former Alabama Governor "Kissing" Jim Folsum predicted this tacitly in the 20th century.
This is news? When Sir Charles left the league a long time ago, he talked about doing this.
Frankly, I thought Sir Charles was a Republican. Walks like a duck, talks like a duck...
Have any of you listened to the Chuckster when he's doing halftime for TNT basketball? I can't decide half the time if he sounds like he had a stroke or if he's plastered. And in this world of being PC, do you really want to rehear all the soundbites of Charles dissing white folk. Funny thing is, last time I saw his wife, she sure looked like one. Chuck is the atheletic version of the witch in Snow White and the Seven Height Restricted Miners. "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall..."
All that said, I do respect how he played fair better than he was supposed to have been able to, given his assets. Unfortunately, as a Suns fan, I'm irritated hearing him downplay the Suns.
He's rich, he's arrogant, and isn't what we need to help America any more than Sarah Palin.
Charles PLEASE no, let us remember you as the great basketball hero you are. I blame this on Palin, she's got everyone now thinking they can be elected.
Charles Barkley tossed this idea around long before anyone had ever heard of Sarah Palin.....
What a sorry state of affairs when just about the only people who can raise the do-re-mi to run for political office are billionaires, sports stars and celebrities.
I have been a fan of Barkley's ever since I heard him say last spring on CNN,"Every time I hear the word conservative,it makes me sick to my stomach!" Since I have long harbored the same feelings, I began to pay more attention to him, even though I do not watch the sports programs he is on regularly.
Where do I send money? I'm ready, I'm fired up. (I'm serious!) Where's the link, I want to donate, NOW!
(*^^^^&^#^%$!)
2014?
Little early to announce..
I like Charles and I am a huge fan every time he speaks as I think he is hilarious but he is not someone I would want budgeting my state and dealing with day to day crisis's in my state, making decisions, etc.

Between Jesse Ventura, Sarah Palin and Charles Barkley, this is the JoeSixpack-i-zation of politics. Being famous is more important than having an education. Well, at least it won't be boring.
Barkely is smarter and better informed, especially on matters of education and what's going on in Alabama. He 'gets it' and he cares.
Charles Barkley is a very smart, very thoughtful guy; if he hadn't been an athlete he would have been successful in any number of other professions. I think he's going to be a fine governor.
Go grab one of his books, any of them are a good read.
