NEW YORK — Broadway has found its new Miss Adelaide.

Lauren Graham will portray the long-suffering fiancee to Oliver Platt's Nathan Detroit in the upcoming revival of "Guys and Dolls," opening March 1 at the Nederlander Theatre. Previews begin Feb. 3.

Graham is best-known for her portrayal of Lorelai Gilmore, the youthful mother on the long-running TV series "Gilmore Girls." She has also appeared in such movies as "Evan Almighty," "Flash of Genius" and "Because I Said So."

"Guys and Dolls" will be directed by Des McAnuff and feature choreography by Sergio Trujillo.

McAnuff, artistic director of Canada's Stratford Shakespeare Festival, worked with Trujillo on the current Broadway success, "Jersey Boys."

"Guys and Dolls," which has a score by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, originally opened on Broadway in 1950.

In other Broadway casting news, Michael Cerveris and Paul Sparks have joined Mary-Louise Parker in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler." The production, featuring a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn, opens Jan. 25 at the Roundabout's American Airlines Theatre. Previews begin Jan. 6.

Cerveris, currently in the Stephen Sondheim musical "Road Show," will play Jorgen Tesman in the revival, which will be directed by Ian Rickson. Sparks will be Ejlert Lovborg.

Lauren Graham/Lorelai Gilmore was nails on chalkboard for me until I saw her in "Bad Santa".

Then all was forgiven.
