McCain Robocall: Obama Will Fund Special Interest Programs With Your Tax Dollars

Two readers have forwarded a new robocall from the McCain campaign, whacking Barack Obama for wanting to "spread your wealth around" so as to afford "special interest projects dreamed up by liberals in Congress."

The calls, which were sent to the Huffington Post on Tuesday evening, work off the theme that the McCain camp has been pushing for the past week -- a traditional effort to cast Obama as a "tax and spend" Democrat whose policies would not just stifle the economy but take money away from people's retirements.

The Obama camp response to this has mainly been to point out that the Democratic nominee is pushing a tax cut for the middle class and that McCain's own health care policy is redistributive in nature. Political strategists, however, have been a bit more biting, wondering why McCain chose to go all in on this attack line so late in the election.

Here is the script:

Barack Obama's plan is to raise taxes on income and investments, leaving you less for your retirement. Just last week in Ohio, Obama said he wants to spread your wealth around. That's your money for nearly a trillion dollars in new, big government, special interest projects dreamed up by liberals in Congress. The Democrats' tax and spend philosophy is the last thing our economy needs right now.

Only the other day, Palin declared that if elected she would spend tax dollars on special needs children - what's that if not a special interest group? Not that I'm averse to spending cash on that or any other vulnerable group, but the hypocrisy stinks to high heaven.

"Tax and Spend" Liberal Democrats, yeah, gotcha.. uhmm.. Socialism? Been there, done that.. This is kind of like watching your favorite Football team, down by 31 points starting the 4th quarter, and all they do is run the ball, or throw short on 3 down and 19 to go. McCain is using a st.up.id tactic in calling Obama a so.cia.lis­t, when his brilliant VP pick Miss Mo.oose knowingly runs the most so.cial.ist.ic state in America:

The robocalls are now old news... McCain and his sheep just lie, lie, lie. they distort (or just plain don't understand) Obama's tax plan... oh wait... Cindy would be taxed more under Obama's plan! NOW I get it!

Got this same robocall at work tonight. The robocalls are always to my business number, never my home number. They're sponsored by the RNC.

On the way home, I drove by the corner where everyone's been planting campaign signs, just to see if the Obama-Biden side had been taken down again (it's already been taken down 4 times). I was always able to put it back up before but this time, the bastards didn't even leave the sign laying in the street. So, since I couldn't replace the O-B sign, I took down the McCain-Palin sign that was next to it.
I guess you have to fight fire with fire. If that's the way they want to play, I'm game. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to score some O-B signs to put up.
