Olbermann: Sarah Palin Is A Socialist

In a Special Campaign Comment, Keith Olbermann cites yet another example of the McCain campaign accusing Barack Obama of something of which they themselves are guilty. In this case, Sarah Palin is accusing Barack Obama of advocating socialism when she literally used that word to describe the collective wealth sharing in her home state of Alaska.

Well, you know, maybe Palin and the rest of the "to heck with socialism" Americans are onto something. Maybe we would be better off if everything was open to free-market dictates. Hmm, let's see ... my house is on fire, but Google Fire Service is asking for a $2,000 in advance payment to keep it from burning down. Or how about ... Well, I want AT&T Sewage Treatment to dispose of my waste, but it's going to cost me $10 each time I take a leak somewhere.

That'll work out just fine, because after all, why SHOULD the rich help the poor pay for police or fire or waste or water or schools or roads (let alone health care) -- or the military? After all, no one ever said that a civilized society was some kind of right.

I have tried writing letters to the editor of my home town paper rebutting the ones claiming "socialist " and they just are not printing them. There is also the born alive lie that they don't rebut either. Until we get back to their fairness doctrine people will have trouble getting the whole truth from the news.

I have one criticism of Olbernamn and that is that he talks a bit over the heads of the Right Wingnuts. But then, of course, anyone with a third grade education can do that. In his pointing out that Sarah Palin is a fraud, something I knew the day she first opened her mouth, he catches her in a trap with her own words. She says she dislikes labels when asked how she would label herself. Yes, she doesn't like them for herself except on exclusive clothes and the ones she tries to tar Obama with. She, with her six pack and phony Joe the Plummer and all the other cutesy people that she says make up the real Americans, is going to end up somewhere like Monica Lewinsky. Yesterdays newspaper and a really boring one. She may make a lot of "dudes" out there get their jollies by watching her with her sexy little "wink" but she should stick to snowmobiles and moose hunting because with that tiny quantity of gray matter even Wasilla is too much for her. It would seem that she shares the wealth with all her fellow Alaskans according to her own statements. How does that not make her a Socialist? Ask any of those idiots out there using the word so freely to explain what Socialism is and I guarantee you, they will be as lost as if you asked them where Tai Wan is. No more dummies in the White House, please.

If what Keith has found is true (her previous quote)... how can we get this out to the other media outlets? This is really extremely important because -- in one fell swoop -- it debunks yet another series of inflammatory attacks. I sincerely hope the Obama campaign makes a nice last minute TV ad out of that one. I don't understand why it isn't all over the place.
FYI, i respect Keith's intellect and communication skills -- just as I do Obama's. When did it become a bad thing to be well educated and well spoken. No wonder we are in trouble.
