The video does not show fraud at 1:49. It wasn't out of calibration. Ralph Nader didn't "come up." Nader was already checked.

In the full interview, he shows at the end that when you choose a candidate first, then the straight party, the candidate will not switch to the party. He chose Nader, then straight Mountain, so Nader didn't change.

While calibration can be a problem, it will be an obvious problem.

the movie is, true to its name, free for all.

I agreewiththose who say another republican election theft will NOT go unanswered by Obama. Unlike Gore and kerry who disappointedly wimped out, Obama et al fights back as demonstrated during his campaign. That is why i was as furious with Kerry and gore as I was wth the republican thieves. I hope traditonally wimpy democrats will take notes in the future about how to punch nasty repuglicans back in the mouth. Six more dayz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obama/Biden 08

There was a big story that broke on a Friday where the Obama campaign's General Council wrote a letter to Attorney General Mukasey requesting that the Republican election actions be investigated.

So what happened to the big story? What was Mukasey's reaction? Did the requested meeting between Mukasey and the General Council take place?

Why did the Obama Campaign break this story on a Friday?

Review of these ES&S Machines and the capability for voter fraud by Black Box Voting:

http://www.bbvdocs.org/ESS/EVEREST-ESS.pdf

Shows that these machines are not reliable. However, they must be cheap now, which is why they are being used in the financially-struggling state of West Virginia.

Aren't people smart enough to notice their vote and report it to the election officials?

You are assuming that the election officials want to fix these problems. It seems to me that stories have been reported where the voter has not gotten a friendly reception to such complaints made on the spot. Don't take my word for it though. Google it yourself to make sure.

In 2004, Clinton Curtis, a computer programmer with Yang Enterprises Inc., testified under oath that he had been asked to create "vote flipping software" for Florida Republican Congressman, Tom Feeney. (Feeney was Jeb Bush's original running mate in the FL gov campaign). Curtis was a republican at the time, and he said that Feeney expected him to help to defeat the "bad guys" (the Democrats).

Feeney wanted the Vote-flipping software that would do the following:
- Run on Windows
- work on a touchscreen
-No hardware required
- have sourcecode that could not be seen.

Curtis said he did write a simple open program that would do this and that this program could be used in various machines/races. Clint Curtis has passed polygraph examinations about this.

The movie "Uncounted", available on Comcast on-demand in their free movie section, gives an account of this fraud. Or google Clint Curtis.

It seems to me that regardless of the code written to do the vote flipping, the basic problem is Windows. Incredible as it sounds, we have warships running Winders. I can just see it in my mind, we have a cruiser in a fire fight with a enemy warship. both taking aim on each other. The one who fires first will win. Suddenly on the American ship they get a blue screen of death and have to reboot the system and it will take about 10 minutes for it all to come back up, if it comes back up at all.

Dishonest or innocently uninformed? Whatever else the machine was doing, what the demonstration showed was *not* an ordinary calibration issue.

I’m a registered N.C. Democrat, and I’ll be a poll worker in my precinct next Tuesday. The voting machine in this video is apparently the same system we use in our county. Based on my experience as a voter and as a recently trained poll worker, here are a few observations:

• Vote selections are recorded on the screen as well as on a paper “scroll,” so voters can check both indicators as they go through the ballot to be sure their votes are being accurately recorded.
• Voters can change any inadvertent votes at any time until they make the final selection to officially record their votes.
• Before this final selection can be made, the machine provides a “review” screen with all of the vote selections indicated.
• Voters should be able to see any inaccuracies immediately, and they should request assistance if necessary.

I have already voted, and I found the system to be easy to navigate and pretty much intuitive. After watching this video I was quite concerned that a machine could consistently be that flawed. But I still saw that the safeguards built into the system should keep inaccurate votes from being recorded – as long as voters remain conscientious. Of course, sinister conspiracies may be at work somewhere, but I do not give much credence to these theories. People need to cast their votes, remain vigilant, and have some faith that our system will work this time.

I could buy a PC off-the-shelf, put the Firefox Browser on it, put up some pages and have an electronic voting machine that did not need calibration. The hardware cost would be minimal and the software cost would be minimal.

Only professional software contractors can find a way to make a simple project be difficult and be a failure.

That is true, but if you want it to be reliable you will have to run a Unix like OS. I would recommend FreeBSD or one of the other BSDs. Linux is too much of a geek system. BSD is much easier. I have a FreeBSD server that has been my router, firewall, DNS cache running on a Pentium 90 with 48 megs of RAM. Never went down in the last 5 years.

Have you actually tried LINUX? I'll take LINUX over BSD any day. Now this is an argument that the Huffington Post readers can really dig into.

Republicans have been RAPING AMERICA WITH LIES! !
NO MORE YEARS TO L-I-A-R-S!
that's NOT what Americans fought and died for.

REPUBLICAN FRATBRAT ad man LEE ATWATER's AND his clone KARL ROVE's republican commandment: TRUTH DOESN'T MATTER!

THAT is the republican MANTRA, STRATEGY, PHILOSOPHY, BELIEF: Anything they can STEAL BY LIES and DISTORTION is "OKAY"!

NO IT'S NOT. As long as that brand of REPUBLICANS CHOOSE to take a criminal route and deceptions, I can't vote for them.

Why not mandate that all federal ballots must be on paper and have a receipt stub. The federal ballot should and could be standardized. The states can decide to have their ballots however they want them. As posted earlier, computer balloting is tilting toward police state IMO.

Excuse me but this is 21st Century USA?

We got the scroll wheel machines where I voted, works better that way I think

Still skeptical though.

With the huge turnout, it's going to take a lot of cheating for the RNC to steal this election. You can take it to the bank, with the millions of obama voters and the Obama campaign, another "theft" will not go down easy.
