CNN Poll: Obama Doubles Lead In Colorado, Makes Gains On Map

Does the road to the White House run through the Rocky Mountains? A new state poll in Colorado suggests that Barack Obama has doubled his lead over John McCain there, as the Democratic nominee claims more territory on CNN's Electoral Map.

In a new survey -- one of five new CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation state polls released Wednesday -- 53 percent of likely Colorado voters questioned say that Obama is their choice for president, with 45 percent backing McCain. That 8 point lead for Obama is double the 4 point advantage he held in our last poll, taken two weeks ago.

McCain needs to worry about these 8 STATES that have moved toward Obama and are within reason:

AZ, GA, KY, KS, MS, MT, SD, and WV

And these 5 states may go to Obama in a landslide election:

AK, SC, TX, AR, and LA

McCain has a good hold on only 7 states:

AL, ID, NE, OK, TN, UT, and WY

This could be 1964 all over again when an WAR LOVING ARIZONA Republican Goldwater won only 52 Electoral Votes.

The Democrats will have to clean up the government, again. A dishonest, disgraceful, mean, and stupid group of Republicans took advantage of us for eight years and it will take a Dem President and congress to get things going the right direction. Republicans should only be the opposition party and never again be in charge.

I am disappointed in John McCain. If he had run an honest campaign this might have turned out differently. Barack has shown a candidate can take the high road and be successful. With McCain it is the "scorched earth" policy with his unsuccessful attacks. McCain's attacks have been so off the mark that it has actually helped Obama. We can't take this election for granted, however-- WE MUST REMEMBER TO VOTE!

What I don't understand is all of the fears that the GOP is throwing around that the country should fear electing dems to the president and the congress will let the dems control everything as a true threat when the GOP had Bush and the GOP COngress and they spent us into a massive hole and made 2 wars one who was only based on lies and has cost us so many young Americans to death and injury. Why is the dems worse than the GOP did to us?

The Dems aren't worse. This is the only way the GOP knows how to fight. They can't win an election on their own merit; they have nothing to offer if you listen closely. So all they can do is criticize the other guy. This is Rovian politics--scrare the American people into voting for the GOP or else we will get bombed and die. These are their tactics and unfortunately they work. Let's hope they don't work this time.
