Not content simply with referencing Joe the Plumber in every stump speech or sending him out on the campaign trail, John McCain is launching a new robocall effort urging the "hard working" Joes of America to unite against Barack Obama and his tax plans.

A reader in Colorado Springs, Colorado, sends over a robocall paid for by the RNC and the McCain campaign claiming that Obama and liberals in Congress "want average Joes everywhere to pay higher taxes to fund nearly a trillion dollars in their big government, special interest projects."

"Work harder so they can spread our wealth around?" the call, narrated by a soft-spoken woman, concludes. "Not for this Joe."

One must think that the McCain campaign sees this line of attack moving the polls a bit as the election nears, because they have been hammering away at it for the past few weeks. Then again, they have tried a whole host of other charges -- to minimal effect -- and might just be playing the last card they've been dealt.

Here is the script:

This is Anne and I am a Joe the Plumber, calling for John McCain and the RNC.

There are millions of hard working, average Joes, just like me across America who can't afford to pay the higher taxes Barack Obama is calling for.

Are you an average Joe who is struggling to pay for groceries and gas or struggling to keep your business open?

Liberals in Congress want average Joes everywhere to pay higher taxes to fund nearly a trillion dollars in their big government, special interest projects.

Work harder so they can spread our wealth around? Not for this Joe.
