Obama's Daily Show Interview (VIDEO)

Barack Obama continued his media blitz tonight with an appearance on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Obama's appearance comes on the heels of his half hour long infomercial which ran in prime time tonight on several major networks, as well as some cable networks. Watch clips of Obama from his interview, including the candidate conceding the "Sean Hannity vote," and how Obama has been undergoing therapy to ensure that his white half doesn't prevent him from voting for himself.

My Colombian-born husband and I (he is a new Citizen and it's his first election!!) moved from Cleveland to NYC last winter to 1) escape the horrible job prospects in manufacturing and 2) escape systemic and pretty horrible racism around the property-tax-funded school systems. And 3), get more Espanol in our life. OK and 4) get some better health insurance. We adore NY and hope to never leave. Our beautiful kids are being coached not to check boxes--when we all stop the germanic/anglo obsession with classifying living breathing people we can get on with life, I say. BTW my mom's family has been in this country since 1720 but I'm no more American than my "litely latina" daughters.

Obama sees the end of the election turning in his favor. His references to Hannity is an early defense to the bias "Sean Hannity's America" will have once he is elected. Hopefully, Obama keeps some of his war chest to combat the smears Hannity will spew once Obama is in office.

Rather than take the shy approach, I'm voting forObama because of his character, his presence, his intellect and because he has proven he certainly can run an effective organization. All down the line his organization has impressed. And no granstanding Palin type subordinates. The real hero is the guy who has worked his way up, not the guy who through his fathters and grandfathers connections got into the Navy, The War College , Congress. Obama made his own way. That's impressive.

Been there, done that for 8 long years. Even if something does happen, I am sure that Obama will have a much better handle on how to respond without making up a bunch of lies about how it happened and doing what is best for us as a country. He is deliberately keeping his hair grey and grown out because it makes him look older and more predidential in the eyes of doubtful people. It is a tactical move. Once he wins he will cut it.

I think I have to clarify and take a crack at answering one of the bloggers question who asks if Obama is half white why do he call himself black. I am an African American 48 year old, Obama is 47.
We were born in the sixties and all we use to hear especially where I am from, New Orleans. If you had caucasean blood in the sixties that was something that the slave owners and racists made sure blacks understood. If you have 1/4 black blood in you, you were black. He was mixed but he was automatically labeled as black. Hawaii was a little different, there were all different cultures., not like in America, especially in the south where you were judged solely on race.
I am happy that now we can examine race relations in this country and have a little more acceptance, we all need a healing.

Hey, queeng. I'm a 50 year old white person from New Orleans (and still here!). There was actually a law that said that if you were something like 1/54th black (not1/4th), you were ALL black. I agree with you that it is a good thing that we are finally starting to examine race relations in this country. I look forward to the day when we don't see each other as black, white, mixed etc., but as people.
