Obama's Daily Show Interview (VIDEO)

Barack Obama continued his media blitz tonight with an appearance on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Obama's appearance comes on the heels of his half hour long infomercial which ran in prime time tonight on several major networks, as well as some cable networks. Watch clips of Obama from his interview, including the candidate conceding the "Sean Hannity vote," and how Obama has been undergoing therapy to ensure that his white half doesn't prevent him from voting for himself.

Couldn't help but notice the audience's absolute silence at the mention of William Jefferson Clinton. Obama paused as though he expected that to be an applause line--but no. Nada. A well deserved silence, Mr. Clinton.

The Economist Endorses Obama

The Economist does not have a vote, but if it did, it would cast it for Mr Obama. We do so wholeheartedly: the Democratic candidate has clearly shown that he offers the better chance of restoring America’s self-confidence. But we acknowledge it is a gamble. Given Mr Obama’s inexperience, the lack of clarity about some of his beliefs and the prospect of a stridently Democratic Congress, voting for him is a risk. Yet it is one America should take, given the steep road ahead.

Thank you for sharing. I remember when this song first came out in 1968. I was 14 years old when this song became a top 10 hit. It was originally recorded by Dion, but Mom's Mabley version has more emotion & nothing surpasses its beautiful message. I lived through these very turbalant times and will never forget John, Martin & Bobby. They were all great men and I believe Obama will shine to their greatness and have the faith he will never meet their end.

I am so worried for this guy. There are so many nutcases out there. I just read today that A&M University conservative students had a rally where students were encouraged to throw eggs at him! Plus, they didn't even know what his policies are. It's this kind of irresponsible behavior that would encourage some frustrated fool to pick up a gun. It needs to stop.

It will be so nice to have a president we know will travel to other countries and participate in putting together future plans of cooperation in dealing with climate change and pollution.

My mother died of lymphoma when I was in my early thirties. When he talked about his mother
dying of cancer and how heartbreaking that was I understood exactly what he went through. I
still tear up just thinking about it. I also think he has a very sophisticated sense of humor and
loved his appearance last night. Yeah I guess sharing your toys in Kindergarten makes you a
Socialist!! At the rally with Bill Clinton I loved his line about how Bush dug us into a economic
hole and he is handing McCain the shovel. (Clinton got a kick out of that one!)

Yeah well I have very big concerns over McCains leadership, it is history of just How he served his time in the Hilton. I'm not saying I would ever hold a thing against a person breaking under the kind of treatment most of the guys got.

Obama called John McCain a "genuine war hero". I know, I know, he is being nice and respectful. But what heroism exactly did McCain display in the war? Getting shot down and laying in a cell for 5 years? Who is to say that the same impetulance and impulsiveness McCain displays now is not what got him shot down in the first place?

Calling McCain a war hero is a little insulting to real, actual war heroes -- the kind that saved lives... like John Kerry who received honor after honor for heroism. The only honor of John McCain's wartime service is that he refused early release because of his pedigree. Honorable, yes, but not even remotely heroic.

However, conceding McCain "war hero" status displays a hell of a lot more character than GOP slimeballs did to Kerry in 2004. It is so refreshing to see a positive campaign that will win. Thank you Barack Obama. Here's hoping we will see Kerry, a true war hero, play an important role in your administration.

I mean, over the past 8 years we've been able to keep average salaries of people pretty stable... well that is if stable is losing on average of $1200.00 in average salary ...

while creating more billionaires than ever. Isn't that the shining example of Bush policies? We certainly wouldn't want to "share the wealth" when we've done such a great job of creating billionaires right? I mean sooner or later those billionaires have to buy a new boat, or a new jet, or a dozen new cars, or buy a new island, or a 10th house, and then we'll get ours... right?

I just love the argument of the average American, who makes less that $ 100 thousand a year, who is supporting McCain because Obama will take "our" money....
