CBS' freshman procedural "The Mentalist" continues to impress, climbing to a season high rating Wednesday evening to tie ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" for first place in the 9 p.m. hour.
With usual time-period titan "Fringe" airing a repeat, "The Mentalist" grew 12% (16.2 million, 3.8 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) despite its lead-in "NCIS" shrinking 6% (17.1 million, 3.4). The boosted performance of "The Mentalist" also lifted 10 p.m.'s "Without a Trace" to a season high (12.1 million, 2.9).
All told, this is CBS' best Tuesday since December.
