Tina Fey

Tina Fey appeared on Conan Tuesday night and talked about 3-year-old daughter Alice, having Sarah Palin at SNL with her pregnant daughter Bristol and how great it was to hug Oprah on camera for "30 Rock." (Hugging Oprah is "everything you want it to be... it's like going to a spa for a week.")

According to Fey, when Sarah Palin ("she was nice") guested on "Saturday Night Live," she asked Fey where Alice had gone as the show approached. Fey told Conan:

"Gov. Palin was like, 'Oh did Alice go home? Oh, cause Bristol woulda babysat.' She offered Bristol Palin to babysit Alice... And it was Bristol's birthday, too. I was like yeah, that's exactly what 17-year-old Bristol Palin wants to do at SNL is babysit the toddler of the lady that gooks on her mom... but they're a nice family"

Also, Alice gets confused telling Sarah Palin and Tina Fey apart, and Fey let Alice watch "Psycho.

That poor girl (Bristol). She will never get out of the claws and clutches of her mother. I know what it's like to be 18 and pregnant in a fundamentalist household. No support there. I can still hear the screams of my Mother for having "shamed" her even as she railed against sex education in our private "Christian" school. I thought we were doing the right thing to slip off to north Georgia and get married (the marriage license cost us $100; obviously the judge was on the take). The church kept telling us that it was better "to wed than to burn." I'm so lucky that I got out of the Bible Belt at age 21. My 86-year-old mother still tells me I'm going to hell for not going to the "one church" three times a week. Ironically, this "one church" has been listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a cult.

Bristol just turned 17, not 18.

So what part of Tina's concern that it was Bristol's birthday... and her statement that "they're a nice family" did you miss?

Palin tells America that since we are not small town people, and we believe in separation of church and state that we have no patriotism or values. Why does she critize my family... shame, shame.

Obama mentioned Rep. Sen. Charles Percy of Ill. Most Rethugs don't remember him or Rep Sen, Everrett Dirksen.

Palin is "trafficking" her own daughter's efforts.

If McCain-Palin are elected - expect every woman and child, to be subjected to trafficking and being considered "furniture" or chattel.

That's because she is used to "pawning" off duties and responsibilities to others. Bristol always babysits while mom and dad are out shootn and huntn the moose families. That's why 5 kids cause she doesn't babysit her own!

Now...how do you know that....

Do you happen to be part of her family or maybe a nosy neighbor.

Seems like a nice family to me....Quit complaining. You don't know them.

Sarah Palin offering her child to babysit a stranger's three year old??? Palin obviously has NO respect for her own family. What kind of a person goes back to work 3 days after they birth a child? This is simple neglect. Everyone has to do what they think is right as far as child care goes.... Palin seems to be making one mistake after the next . Maybe if Bristol's mother would have paid more attention to her child she would not be expecting a grand-child? No wonder the girl is reaching out for attention. Driving your son to join the armed forces during a conflict, shoving your responsibilities off on your oldest daughter, not being there for your special needs child.... What is family first about any of this? It seems to me Mr. Palin cannot handle the domestic side of things.

What else do you need to know? Your beloved liberal Tina Fey likes her, thinks she's classy. Maybe your image of Sarah Palin is a bit....biased?

"Liking her" as a person doesn't equate to supporting her in an election.

I like "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" but it doesn't mean I want him to be President.

Fey has class. Palin does not. Fey's not going to slam Palin on the air. As for you, any woman that can't spot a chameleon who uses the little intelligence she has to connive and maneuver her way to the top shouldn't vote. You haven't a street smart in you and are obviously easily duped by charm and little substance.

not that it makes her situation any better, but you see how media spin in politics can be misconceived as truth.

Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter 5 months pregnant. I thought she was already 17. When Tina Fey said it wasBristol's birthday, I was under the impression she had turned 18. I guess to try and soften the blow the camp decided to push that she was already 17 when she was only 16 when the news broke of her pregnancy. Teen prgnancy is not good ,but I misconceived probably like many others.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:57 AM on 10/30/2008

so why was the media saying Bristol was 17 when she was actually 16 when Palin was chosen. I guess because she was so close to becoming 17. According to sources she was born in 1991.
Therefore she just made her 17th birthday

I met Sarah Palin briefly and she is such a lovely lady... very intelligent and honest. She stands by her beliefs, her family, and her country.

exactly who home-schools them when they are dragged on the campaign trail?
Sarah seems so scattered through the country, it's hard to believe that she's the "teacher".
And if she is, I feel very sorry for her kids.

If and when they move out, they will be expecting dinosaurs around every turn, and won't know how to think for themselves, without a print-out of today's talking points.

And G o d forbid if you cross her, beliefs disagree with her, beliefs, or get in her way. Read the Alaska newspapers - she leaves a wake of good people on the roadside. She believes it is ethical to allow her husband to have access to employment records and act in an official government capacity? She asks for per-diem when she is working at home?

I'm sure you'd love it if your HR Manger's husband showed up to your workplace one day and decided to have a one on one about his concerns about one of your coworkers. And I'm sure that HR Manager would be fired for allowing this to happen. But Sarah and her beliefs are ABOVE the law - that's NOT lovely.

In what universe do you ask your considerably pregnant 17 year old to babysit a random strangers child, let alone on their birthday?

That's what I really don't get about Sarah as a mom. I mean, I know we joke about how backward Wasilla is, but usually when someone of that stature reaches the national stage they have common sense about certain things. We expect you to "realize" things. (Similar to how it surprised us that a rich, star NFL Quarterback could spend his time dogfighting....why?). I mean, this is what we expect from Apalachia, not the governor's mansion. Using your daughter like that...I was thinking when we first saw Sarah how sad it was that Bristol wasn't educated about birth control, that she was on her own and the boyfriend wasn't around, and she was sort of dragged around with this big belly by her mother, all for her mother's benefit. What an unbelievable humble sacrifice for Bristol. Instead of thinking about her own baby and people catering to her, she got stuck taking care of Trig half the time. And now Sarah's lending her out to take care of Tina's 3 year old. So there would be Bristol, big belly, with Trig on her lap, and a 3 year old running around.....on her birthday no less. And this is NORMAL to them. That's really scary to me. Like Tina said, they seem happy, and I'm sure they're a nice family, but I find myself expecting more.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:35 AM on 10/30/2008

I feel sorry for Bristol but not as sorry as I feel for her boyfriend. I feel worse for Trig. Can you imagine all the germs that child is being exposed to during this campaign? This would be hard on a healthy baby. I think it's horrible the way she parades around her pregnant high school dropout daughter and her special needs baby she chose to have as if they say good things about her character. What I see is cold insensitivity and very little but.

Isn't Bristol due shortly? December-ish? Maybe Palin didn't have a problem running around that far in her pregnancy, and there are women who do travel in the third trimester, but don't make your pregnant teen run around the country like a sideshow freak when she's probably tired. She looks sad whenever you see her on tv.

I feel really sorry for Bristol. Not that she had teen sex, without protection, and got pregnant obviously. But that her mother thinks that her daughter's misfortune is good for the campaign.

On the flip side, maybe she wants to be near Bristol right now. If so, just let the kid stay on the plane or in the limo and take a quiet nap.

As an Obama supporter who is also white, female, heterosexual and a practicing Catholic, I have a brain which is why I changed my registration to Democratic because of my belief in Barack Obama and his ability to make positive change in this country. I defend everyone's right to choose whether it is religion or pro-life. Please don't paint all Christians with the same brush as it is hurtful to those of us who are not out to make everyone believe as we do. It is a personal choice. Thank you, from an Arizonian for Obama!!
