"30 Rock" Returns With Greatness, But Will People Watch?

NBC's parent company, General Electric, should send Senator John McCain flowers and a microwave oven. Tina Fey probably doesn't do a credible Mitt Romney, but her impersonation of Gov. Sarah Palin is so deliciously dead-on that it has helped "Saturday Night Live" score its highest ratings in years.

The popularity of those Palin parodies (mostly Ms. Fey quotes the Alaska governor verbatim) will surely give a boost to Ms. Fey's other job.

Her NBC comedy, "30 Rock," returns on Thursday for its third season. Despite unstinting critical acclaim and many Emmys, the show, which Ms. Fey produces, writes and stars in, alongside Alec Baldwin, has yet to be embraced by a broad audience.

I would guess NO! Fey is not a draw.

Watched it for the first time last night. Hilarious. Tina Fey is a brilliant writer.

Now that it's back I can continue with the self-inflicted torture of trying to figure out which is the best of all comedies: 30 Rock or The Office. I think I'll have to call in sick this morning with an awful headache.

I have watched the show a few times, but I just can't stand Tracy Morgan. He is the reason I cannot watch the show.

I had never watched it; but before becoming so obsessed with election coverage; I rented both the 1st, and the 2nd season(that's just lately come out on DVD rentals), what can I say; I Am HOOKED; love, it,and can't wait for tonight when the premiere comes on; now I know whos's who!, If it's new to you, go get the rentals, only 30 minute segments, and I can watch one or two, go do something I may need to do;
pause it till later! It's hilarious; and the casting could't have been any better!

The problem is it clashes with Grey's Anatomy. Otherwise I would so watch it.

Watch the full episodes on hulu.com or nbc.com. Well worth your 22 minutes, I promise.

I think this show is HILARIOUS. If our A.D.D. nation of viewers would just calm down and take a minute to watch, they (you) too, can enjoy the low-key brilliance of 30 Rock.

I will campaign for this show.

Here's the reason why people aren't watching 30 Rock: IT ISN'T FUNNY!!!!

I've tried watching the show three times and I've never found a laugh in it. I laughed a lot more when I watched Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and that was a drama that had some hilarious sketch comedy in it.

Sorry critics, but the Empress isn't wearing any clothes....

"30 Rock" is LOL funny EVERY TIME I see it!

The thing about the show is, it's very smart.

Sorry critic, it sounds like you just don't get it....

I agree with those that disagree with you. I laugh every time I see it and I have a sense of humor that can be difficult. We are all entitled to our opinions though but guess what it doesn't make anyone of us right but to ourselves. So who cares what you or I think? Laugh don't laugh, watch don't watch. But you are the only poster who days the show isn't funny. I mean it's not like it's the office (so unfunny and boring in my opinion).

Ah well, humor is one of life's intangibles, isn't it? I'm married to the only man in America who thinks Colbert isn't funny. And I am in agreement with you, freedomisabsolute, don't at all get the appeal of The Office.
The one source of humor my household agrees on is 30 Rock. It's like watching a Mad magazine- you have to be paying close attention all the time or you'll miss half the gags.
