I Like ItI Don’t Like It

"30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin talked to David Letterman about guesting on "Saturday Night Live" alongside Sarah Palin.

"She was lovely" and "very nice" he told Letterman. He also said he didn't want her hand on the nuclear button.

Then, imitating her voice (which he's done before), Baldwin said of Palin, "She said to me, 'I've been talking to your brother Stephen and we've been chatting, trying to figure out how to knock some sense into you.'"

After a few more Stephen jokes on Alec's part, he told Dave, "She's a beautiful, beautiful woman." and referred to her as "Bible Spice."

Yeah, and Ann Coulter is kinda attractive. Personality can wipe all of that away rather quickly.

That thought doesn't seem to have influenced the election of the Bushes, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Nixon....Taft, Cleveland....(how far back shall I go :-) ?)....

Stephen is like all right-wingers obsessed with God. They are not strong enough to think for themselves, so they allow a book to rule their thoughts and lives. Very sad.

I see it as the opposite... it's easier to go through life doing your own thing... it takes greater strength to put your faith in God and follow His commandments. Being a Christian in this world isn't always easy. However, I know that I know God is real.... not only is there mounting evidence, the greatest being all of the proven, historical prophecies (just google old testament fulfilled prophecies), but I also feel it in my heart and see God all around me in this beautiful world I believe He created for us. :)

While you're at it, google Nostradamus' fulfilled prophesies.

The difference is nobody is personally offended when you simply say you believe in god.

IndyPete,
(Tried responding under your post, but there must be a glitch, as it doesn't show up and doesn't show as deleted).

Anyway, not all of Nostradamus's prophecies came true, but "all" of the Biblical prophecies came true, thereby, giving them credibility, as there were no false prophecies. Also, The Deal Sea Scrolls prove they were written long before the historical events occurred that fulfilled the prophecies. Biblical archaeology is a fascinating topic... especially when it expands upon your faith, as it does mine. :)

That's fine. Being an atheist isn't easy. I don't want the laws of the land I call home to be made in accordance with your belief structure. Live your life, stay out of mine.

THAT'S the difference. I'm not shlepping for a candidate who wants the laws of our country based on a religious view, especially one as narrow as the far right, which is where Palin resides.

As far as I can see, the biggest complaint about Obama and liberals in general is that they want to open up the rights and laws of this country to afford EVERYONE the same freedoms that the Right seem to think only belong to them or those they see fit to annoint with them.

Well, you would see it as the opposite, wouldn't you APR? Because you seem to be one of those people who can only understand your own world view.

I find it fascinating that you feel that Christians are still an oppressed minority. Because Christians have such a hard time getting jobs with their weird minority religion, don't they? I mean, name the last President who was a Christian!

Oh, that's right, they've ALL been Christians.

Explain how Christians have it so hard, again? I'm a little confused.

You must watch The O'Reilly Factor an awful lot.

Sorry folks, but I first saw the description of Palin as "Bible Spice" here in the comments section of HuffPo weeks before I saw Baldwin use it. So he didn't invent the term.

Well, he may have invented it on his own.... he just wasn't the first to do it is all. :)

Second. I saw "Bible Spice" right here off the HuffPo boards, too, weeks ago and have been using it ever since myself, although I prefer Miss American Tali ban (who BTW is the UGLIEST human being I have ever seen in my life).

Good thing the election hasn't come down to beauty vs. brains. Obama would win on both counts.

Sarah Palin would not have been picked if she was average looking. She was picked for guns, god and looks. However with the economy falling apart and McCain's age -this pick is frivolous. Crazy! They are going to lose but Sarah Palin put herself on the map. McCain is toast.

But Alec Baldwin is funny- Bible Spice- that's a good one. I will be so happy to have this all behind us.

The shocking part is that Sarah Palin was ever picked in the first place, regardless of the status of the economy. She is not qualified. There should not even be an argument.

I hated her the night of the GOP. Who comes out disparaging someone the way she did to Obama. She doesn't even know him. But, hark, it is okay. The only thing that isn't okay is to disparage Palin for her idiocy, because we haven't personally been in her magnificence. If we meet her, we will see her qualifications, per John McBush.

Alec is a very unhappy, cruel, man, you can tell by the way he treats his daughter. Who cares what he says or thinks?

You do! Or you wouldn't comment.

Melissa, understand this, the opposite of love is not hate, the opposite of love is indifference. Love and hate are just two sides of passion.

And maybe being raked over the coals in public by the mother of your children would cause someone to become bitter, don't you think?

You don't characterize a person based on their worst day. The amalgam of a person describes their character, not their best day or their worst. The harsh judgementalism of your comment screams volumes about your character. Would you want to be judged based on that?

In the spirit of say something nice, or say nothing I have no problem commenting on Sarah's "hotness," particularly to men--I feel it goes right to the point of their regard for her, so let's not blather on about her intellectual capabilities, for heavens sake. Sarah's taken care of that part on air already. In fact, there's something eerily compelling about someone who has absolutely no doubt about anything, ever. Who never questions, who has no inner life. I don't know. I find all that thinking about stuff burdensome sometimes. Sarah shows me how the other side lives.

With all of his comments aside about her, I cannot explain it, because I have NEVER really been a huge man-fan of Alec Baldwin. I like his work, yada..yada..really respect his opinions. I think he is someone you would want on your side. And puffy-ness aside, because you want someone that has a build. I think as he gets older, ( and I have watch what I say I am older too) he is SEXY.never seen him looking so good, not even when he was younger. His voice, his stature, again cannot explain, but SMOKIN.. We could wish he was running for office, and throw lots of SEXIST comments his way.

And, with respect to Alec Baldwin, David Letterman; I think that our society spends so much time on appearance. It's value, which unless your a model, should carry no clout. But yet it does, so my previous spouting was more from reading all of the comments from these pages...Looks are very important, and it is sad to say they sometimes help some more than others. And, left or right, good or bad we pre-dispose people to what WE think they are about or mean or know. Sometimes, without meaning to or wanting and sometimes deliberately. Gov. Palin is stunning, Alec Baldwin is handsome, but in my opinion these people have to carry more than good looks to make me think differently about issues, if only everyone else did too.

The fault I see with your comment, though I do not completely disagree, is that Alec is sitting next to a very powerful man who happens to be rather unattractive.

If you consider his body of work, I think you'll find an underrated actor who can and has, handles every type of role with a great deal of professionalism and to great effect...
