Liberals have long laughed off any suggestion of liberal media bias, but this week, Politico.com reveals that the perceived media slant against McCain is absolutely real. They cite a study by the Project for Excellence in Journalism that shows that over the last six weeks, John McCain got four times as many negative stories as positive ones while Barack Obama received more than twice as much positive coverage as McCain. Why? The McCain campaign is a shambles. It has failed to achieve any of its goals and its steady collapse may spell trouble for the future of the GOP. No reasonable person would disagree. Yet, is that any reason for such negative coverage? The media's continued insistence on reporting the facts about the disgraceful McCain campaign is liberal bias, pure and simple.

So the media has to pretend that McCain is acting like a jerk and running mostly false ads about Obama and trying to turn the election into a "culture war?" The fact that these questions turn into "negative bias" is a joke. Bottom line is that Obama is running a smooth campaign with little in the way of problems and McCain is running a campaign fraught with problems and full of lies and the media addresses this. To not would be BIAS. But I guess that is what McCain wants.

I strongly disagree with the writer as every time the McCain/Palin RePugs throw out one of their attacks like ACORN or Ayres, etc. -- the MSM picks it up and runs with it ad nauseam. Therefore the MSM is further getting McCains lies out on his behalf. MSM runs with it for days on end before they stop to fact check anything.

McCain’s ad content s far more negative that Obama's, Obama attacks on policy issues, which is what is supposed to happen, McCain attacks character and is trying to divide our nation to win an election, and that is not what America needs in the crucial time. And that is why McCain is losing in the polls as well, no message no direction, We need unity among all Americans.

McCain does not have the money to air as many ads as Obama's, but the percentage of McCain’s ads that are negative is darn near 100%, where as Obama’s percentage of "negative ads" was more like 29% if that much.

Thanks for combating the whines of Politico and may I add Mcc's surrogates. Funny thing is that even their papers and TV station can only find sparse positive news to report on them. Maybe if they weren't so fixated on what Sen. O.bama says, will do or hang with and had a positive message there would be positive reporting. The question they should ask themselves is how can you report on anything positive when there is none, unless they want you to join the club of liars. The only positive that you get is the one minute line of "I know how to do ...", but leave us to read his/her mind as to how.

Because John is dividing this country not unifying. This redistribution of wealth issue is huge. It has no merit and John McCain should be ashamed of his self and his "dog from hell" Sarah Palin should be sent back to her kennel. To even make this statement at a time when folks are loosing their homes, committing suicide because they have lost 60% of the retirement and savings, not the mention the growing number of homeless (w childern) on the street. I doubt that- you are missing the point- no one cares that mccain and obama has negative ads attacking each others policy- that is what you are supposed to do that is what Mccain said he wanted to do is fight about issues-but most of mccain ads attacking Obama has nothing to do with policy and that is the difference- I've seen obamas negative ads, but he does not attack Mccains character- he attacks his policy- and that is acceptable to everybody
