I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Wasilla Paper

Lest you think that everything is going Barack Obama's way and that the media is totally in the tank for Barack Obama, we bring you word of an endorsement the Illinois Senator has failed to receive: that of Wasilla, Alaska's hometown newspaper, the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman.

Oh, this is funny! Here's the entirety of what the paper has to say about Sarah Palin:

Since her announcement Aug. 29 as Sen. John McCain's running mate on the Republican ticket, Gov. Sarah Palin has dominated the political headlines. From her personal life to her sudden rise into the national spotlight, America and the media cannot seem to get enough Palin.

While the clamor over Palin has been revealing and entertaining, it's time for voters to focus on the choice we have to lead the United States for the next four years.

We endorse John McCain as that leader.

As many have turned a tabloid eye to McCain's running mate in the weeks leading up to the election, we urge voters to remember that McCain, not Palin, is the Republican candidate for president, and it's because of McCain's proven leadership and integrity we urge Alaska and the Mat-Su to vote McCain.

I don't know! That seems a little like damnation by means of some faint praise! But make no mistake, the Frontiersman is all but clear about what they think of Obama. In the paper's eyes, Obama is a candidate who will "[toe] the Democratic Party line," and thus enable the "ultra-liberal Pelosi-bots in Congress." Honestly? That's some top flight snark. Additionally, they call out Obama for being a "wimp," and praise McCain for having the "military background and the experience to know that whatever anyone thinks about our war on terror in Iraq, that defeat is not an option."

Editor and Publisher has more on the endorsement.

The Wasilla paper would be doing the world a bigger favour if they insisted that PALIN release her MEDICAL RECORDS ....

They are conspiring in the mysterious birth of Trig Palin ..

And why has the USA MEDIA not made a bigger deal of Palin's refusal ?????????

SHE iS GETTING AWAY WITH THIS

That settles it. Voting for McCain. If the Wasilla group say's to vote that way, why should I take advice from the NYT, LA Times, Economist, Chicago and Houston papers, etc. With the penetrating intellect demonstrated by Palin and Alaska I am going that way. Hew, I was a last minute undecided and was waiting for this endorsement. Now I can sleep at night.

Never heard of Wasilla before this and don't care to hear about it when this is all done. Although it would be fun to watch her crash and burn once she gets back home.

I like the bit about McCain’s integrity. But is that not a bit gone south now, considering the squalid nature of his campaign?

Oh, if you all only knew what many a Frontiersman reader knows about the Palins.

I read the comments one day on a local news station's site. The locals talked openly about the Palins' actually one woman referred to Palin as having a beer in one hand and a gun in another. It was also mentioned that Bristol's boyfriend did not have a choice and that they heard he had gotten someone else pregnant (but that could be just back fence gossip). It was mentioned that her older son Track (Van Palin his full name - she apparently loves Van Halen) and friends went on a crime spree smashing up many windows and slashing the tires on a number of school buses $$$$. They remarked that the judge told the family either he goes to the military or jail, your choice. I believe he has been deployed, they made their choice.

I surfed the local news scene the day after Palin was chosen and then went back to find the sources in my computer's history, funny how all of those conversations just disappeared.

LMAO. Their endorsement amounts to, "just for get that Sarah, who we all know is completely unqualified, is on the ticket. McCain is the candidate that matters".

Just goes to show that ANYONE who votes for McCain will be praying nothing happens to him if he gets elected...as will the rest of us!
