Peter Frampton Angry Over Obama Sign Theft

CINCINNATI — Rocker Peter Frampton is wishing someone would show him the way to keep his Barack Obama yard signs from getting swiped.

The Grammy winner is complaining that signs showing his preference for the Democratic presidential candidate have been stolen repeatedly at his home in the upscale and predominantly Republican Cincinnati suburb of Indian Hill.

Frampton, 58, is so angry, he called The Cincinnati Enquirer asking to be interviewed.

The British-born singer of "Show Me the Way" and other hits told the newspaper that one reason he became a U.S. citizen was so he could vote. Now, he says his American rights to free speech and political speech are being violated and it "bugs" him.

Frampton said he has installed a video camera to catch the thieves.

He tried greasing the sign once before. I suggested lights and a rock show as well as a camera and may have told him about a guy who put up a note congratulating the thief for supporting O'bama (for every sign stolen, he'd replace it and give the campaign more money).

Yep I actually MET Mr. Frampton last week while he was touring and he visited my local O campaign office. I think my pic with him is on my profile. Go get 'em PF!

I would put the biggest Obama sign in my front window or paint my garage door OBAMA, and then I would have a video camera set up incase they tried to vandalize. This way, you could actually get the perp thrown in jail if they did that.
I like the idea of painting your garage door, nice and big. Also to say to that snotty neighborhood, you are not going to take away my free speech. The more that some people take the signs etc, it would only make my resolve stronger to show them that they are not going to silence me.
How childish is it that signs are being stolen! Just stupid.

Not only are signs being stolen, but I had my bumper sticker stolen. Taken from the gated garage by someone who lives in the same condo building or works there. I bought a new one and taped it in the rear window of my car.

Other voters have come into the Lower Keys Democrat Office and complained about stolen yard signs and then purchased more.

Happened in my neighborhood in Phx, too. The neighbor put a sign on the sign saying that the theft of her previous sign was reported to the police. that's a great thing, that we have signs to the right wing telling them that freedom of speech is protected. They have to be reminded of these things often, because they're not too smart and didn't learn to read, they just recognize the colors and steal the blue stuff. Maybe a red "obama" sign. But then--that would be them d@mned commonists again, wouldn't it?

Also, I believe the poison ivy dissipates over time so there would be no proof.

Yes, me too! My avid Mormon neighbor with a big family who supports proposition 8 here in California stole my Obama and no on 8 sign this morning. I even saw the sign in his car, but couldn't find him, and then he split.

What gets me is the hypocrisy of these so-called Christians. They act friendly to your face and then resort to petty acts and gossip behind your back because you don't subscribe to their beliefs. If they believe so much in God don't they think he might be listening. Don't they have a conscious?

And this guy is only one left in the neighborhood who hasn't cleaned up the weeds on his lot after the fires. Five houses burned down, including his, leaving just just us and two others on the block. He just stops by to pick up his mail...but was so aghast at our Obama sign and no on 8 he had to steal them while we were sleeping. And this is the guy I've lent tools to and played with his kids.

What a weasel. How can he face his kids?
