Peter Frampton Angry Over Obama Sign Theft

CINCINNATI — Rocker Peter Frampton is wishing someone would show him the way to keep his Barack Obama yard signs from getting swiped.

The Grammy winner is complaining that signs showing his preference for the Democratic presidential candidate have been stolen repeatedly at his home in the upscale and predominantly Republican Cincinnati suburb of Indian Hill.

Frampton, 58, is so angry, he called The Cincinnati Enquirer asking to be interviewed.

The British-born singer of "Show Me the Way" and other hits told the newspaper that one reason he became a U.S. citizen was so he could vote. Now, he says his American rights to free speech and political speech are being violated and it "bugs" him.

Frampton said he has installed a video camera to catch the thieves.

Those Obama signs are being taken all over-everyone I know who has put one out has had at least 1 removed. What a bunch of cowards. Do they think it will keep us from voting? Loved the poison ivy idea.

I live in rural Missouri and the same thing has been happening to Obama signs.
If you can't afford to put a motion detector light and/or camera, put the sign in your
front window. That's what I had to do. No McCain signs are stolen.
The fringe group are overwhelmingly far-right republicans who don't mind stepping on the rights of those who don't agree with them. They are nothing if not consistent.

Indian Hill is a seriously wealthy area. That's where the big Republican money originates, and is the reason why Bush and McCain have made so many visits there while on the campaign trail.

I've always wondered exactly where Frampton lived in Indian Hill. I suspect that if I were to visit, I'd just need to spot the only Obama sign on the lawn.

Peter: It might be better, as far as privacy is concerned, if your sign were to less visible.

I worked security at one of his concerts about 5 years ago. The warm up in the afternoon was great, the show was so-so. Anyway, his a slight man but very nice. Most of these guys are smaller than average, but most are jerks.

Meatloaf and David Lee Roth also played there that week and they were AWFUL. DLR wears a hairpiece and up close it looks like someone stapled blond road kill to his head.

I wont put one up because my neighborhood has too many Veterans for McCain/ Palin 1st Then McCain signs and they all think that the republican ticket is for them? Im a white female 57 yrs old and I dont want any attention to my residence. I live alone and in some fear of my safety. But my son is on his 2nd tour of iraq right now. But im going to volunteer saturday and I cant wait to discuss these bills with some of these veterans.

Maybe they just wanted the sign for their own yard. I couldn't get my hands on an Obama yard sign and I did think for a second (it was fleeting-maybe 2 seconds tops.) about snagging one from down the street. I never did it, but every time I pass that sign I think I could have done more with the sign than my neighbor is doing with his.
