WWD:

Men's Vogue, the Vogue spinoff that grew in frequency from supplement to full-fledged, 10 times a year magazine, is significantly cutting back to two issues a year and its operations are being folded back into Vogue. Jay Fielden will remain editor of the men's issues, which will be published in spring and fall. The fates of publisher Marc Berger and others on the Men's Vogue editorial staff were unclear.

The magazine employed about 40 staff members on the editorial side, plus contributing editors, and a comparable number on the business side.

As a man, the cashier would look at me a little 'funny' if I bought a men's fashion magazine.

This comes as a good time as people are realizing they no longer need to get their information of dead trees that could have been left alive to absorb record-high carbon dioxide emission in our atmosphere.

There will likely be a Constitutional Amendment in the next 10 years that greatly expands Democracy; at least if the trend continues.

McCain needs 409,239 votes in seven states to win the election, whereas John Kerry needed 118,599 votes in Ohio:

You know what. A lot of the U.S. magazine publishers need to take a page out of Felix Dennis' book. Dennis Publishing UK's mags are mostly digital. A lot of them are new launches and they are doing well. Companies like Time Inc needs to shed weight as far as it's many businesses.

Men's Vogue was, without question, the silliest magazine ever published. Loved this cover line on he latest (last?) issue: "Built Tom Ford Tough: Why Bond Gave up on Saville Row." Bet that one jumped right off the newsstands.

Who in the world did they think their audience was? The content wasn't just boring it was aggressively boring. The editors should be sued for malpractice.

Men's Vogue started out trying to capture some of the readers of GQ, Esquire and Vanity Fair--magazines which cater towards men with the main emphasis being on grooming, while at the same time, providing in depth articles written by top notch journalists and writers.

Slick magazines, male and female, are going down the tube due to their costs and subject matter. Struggling people can't afford to pay out the nose for publications selling glamour when food, gas and other commodities are out the kazoo price-wise.

What was Conde Nast thinking launching Men's Vogue and Portfolio? They'd have been better off investing in Lehman Brothers.

Obama is just neat...he looked neat and stylish in the rain freezing. One of my favorite pictures of him, was when he was getting out of the car in Denver with his garment bag over his shoulder with his sunglasses on. Man that was GQ model.

me too... as a woman, it's the only time I ever bought it... keeping it, too. But it's not the one pictured above; it's a much hotter cover: Sept/Oct 2006
