I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Bill Kristol knocked his own paper, the New York Times, on "The Daily Show" last night, and repeated his prediction that John McCain will win the White House on Tuesday.

Jon Stewart joked with the error-prone Kristol, who he has mocked before, "You can't look at past performance as a predictor, otherwise you wouldn't be, obviously, still a pundit."

"You're reading The New York Times too much, Jon," Kristol told Stewart, only for Stewart to remind him that he works there. "Oh, it's a very fine newspaper — on one day of the week."

Kristol also predicted that McCain would "win huge," but that even if Barack Obama does pull it off, he ill be a "conventional" president."

I'm no fan of Kristol but it seems that people here have missed something, mainly that he was making a joke when he predicted a McCain/Palin victory.

Bill Kristol is batting about .100 when it comes to predictions. Anyone else would have been sent to the Toledo Mudhens by now.

Al Gore is a loser

John Kerry is a loser

Obama is a socialist

But he's not a loser, so what does that say about the Republicans if the McCain ticket is less appealing than communism.

If what Obama stands for is what you want to call Socialism then I'm for Socialism.

BTW - Obama really opened a can of whoop-ass on McCain, it's what some might call a madate from the masses. Don't you think there should be a mercy rule or something when you opponent is annihilating you like Obama did to McCain?

Breaking News--Bill Kristol, I fear, has an undiagnosed brain tumor that is threatening aneurism--how else can you account for his eight year losing streak? And like an enabler to an alcoholic, the news establishment continues to publish him... Go figure.

Joe Biden had TWO aneurisms - so what does that say about HIM?

I'm glad Kristol predicts McCain to win. He's such a liar, you can count on whatever he says to be the opposite of the truth.

I'll never forget this whopper he told Terry Gross on NPR's "Fresh Air" during the runup to Bush's invasion of Iraq: "There's this pop psychology that the Sunnis don't get along with the Shiites, and the Shiites don't get along with the Sunnis. There's almost no evidence for that." Al Franken often says that this lie "should disqualify Kristol from ever being allowed to speak in public again."

Thank you, Jon Stewart, for rubbing some truth into Kristol's smug face.

Bill Kristol is a guy I love to hate. He is wrong about everything all of the time, and that makes me feel good!

i find him fascinating. although i disagree he is "wrong" because most of the time he is a straight up and down propagandist and it's not his job to be right or wrong, just in lockstep. still, he is articulate and, at least to me, doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. frankly, i'd love to see him in tandem with chomsky moderate an actual debate. that would be beautiful.

Isn't he the same nimrod who said Obama would win?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:41 PM on 11/01/2008

This is what worries me. They have something up their sleeve. My worry is that they'll pull something, and the corporate media will just fall in line, and let them get away with it. Just like they flipped 2004 when all the exit polls said Kerry, and Bush wins by a few hundred votes.

If they steal the election people have to take to the streets. But be careful, Bush suspended posse comitatus for a reason. Yup, you betcha.

Hating the game. Just to let you know, I work for them, though i support Obama and always have. I can tell you that they have absolutely rigged this election and though I cannot tell you how, it is obvious from their planning that they already know what is going to happen and that people are going to take to the streets. What frightens me is that from what i can see, they want it to happen - THEY WANT IT TO HAPPEN.
Is this going to be an excuse to take out the enemy??? I dont know. I do know, however, that they are making sure their minions on the streets are heavily armed. So, when you take to the streets know that you are putting your life at risk and what for? For your beliefs. Thats what. And God bless you for standing up and please know that I am praying for you. Please pray for me as well. Because I will be right next to you

Little early for the revolution I think. Pretty large assumption that those right wing crazies have rigged it again. Maybe you should accept the fact that you barely got beat in one election and that this one could be up for grabs. Hey, I believe in my political thoughts as much as you do but if Obama wins I'm not "taking it to the streets".
I'm hoping your thoughts of "taking it to the streets" means peaceful protest which shouldn't involve putting your life at risk or being worried about the heavily armed minions. Regarding your "enemy" comment, there is no enemy here. There is a huge difference of opinion on how things should be done, but Obama, as much as I disagree with him is not my enemy. If he should win, I will accept that and get up and go to work Wednesday morning just like I always do. When this election is over we will all still be Americans, and that is a great thing in my opinion.

I think that there is a conspiracy of players to tilt the election, and has been for many cycles. I don't think they can affect more than 10% of the vote, so will most likely not be a factor if you apply the 10% to the electoral counts in dem states. They have built camps in the desert for insurrection, but I think its for food riots, not political riots. But while were on the subject of neocons, read Grover Norquist and his quest to drown the entitlements in a sea of red ink. That'll shiver your timbers.

Yes, he did predict that McCain would when, but he couldn't keep a straight face after he said it. It is a funny piece. It was said, but he didn't even believe it himself.

In what other profession other than the American Corporate media Punditry could somebody be so wrong so often and still keep his job?

Could you imagine Doctors with such a record? How about Bus drivers.

When Obama wins this Tuesday lets all hope Kristal, Brooks, Milbank etc etc nd all the other hacks who have been so wrong for soooo long will go crawl back under those rocks they came out from under.

You have point.

Hollywood blows millions, if not hundreds of millions on failed movies.

Ahhh. But that doesn't negate my point.

They are part of the American Corporate Media also!
