Chicago Halloween Parties (SLIDESHOW)

Still looking for somewhere to show off that costume? Here are some of the city's best last-minute Halloween bets.

"The Warriors" Halloween Party at The Burlington (3425 W Fullerton) pays tribute to the 1979 cult classic. Come dressed as a member of your favorite gang for free admission, cheap beer, a fog machine, and surprise DJs. Party starts at 7 p.m.

Can't shake the election buzz? Darkroom's (2210 W. Chicago Ave.) Halloween Hellection is a politically-themed party featuring resident and guest DJs, Canadian band Shout Out Out Out Out, a costume contest, and a Patrick Swayze dance contest. $10 entry with costume.

Theater on the Lake (2401 N Lake Shore Dr.) offers a haunted tour of a former sanitarium. Each room boasts a scary theme, such as a demented clown's test lab and an Egyptian graveyard. Open Friday night from 7-11 p.m.

All proceeds from this bash at Ohm (1958 W. North Ave.) benefit Urban Initiatives, a local organization that gets low-income public school students involved in soccer programs. The $40 entry goes to a good cause, and includes all you can drink from 8 p.m. to Midnight. Costumes required.

Get campy at the Portage Theater's (4050 N. Milwaukee) "Halloween Havoc" triple feature: "The Monster Squad," "Frankenstein Meets the Worlfman," and "Fright Night." Cash prize for best costume and prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. See all three for $10. Doors open at 6:30.

DJ duo Villains headline the electro-rock Halloween party at Sonotheque (1444 W. Chicago Ave.) Specials include $4 Svedka cocktails and $3 Goose Island 312.

$12 gets you into Brian O'Hern & The Model Citizens Big Band's swing-happy Halloween bash at The Green Mill (4802 N. Broadway).

Casey Moran's (3660 N. Clark St.) has draft beer, call drinks and a buffet for $30. The night features specialty cocktails, giveaways, and a costume contest, from 8-11 p.m.

Bust out those '80s threads and $8 for Dave Roberts and his Planet Earth New Wave Masquerade Ball, at Subterranean (2011 W. North Ave.). Recommended attire includes Masquerade, New Romantic, and Blitzkid.

Turn back the clock at the 1920s Speakeasy Halloween Party & Costume Contest at In Fine Spirits (5420 N. Clark St.). Prohibition-era food and drink specials, Raffle prizes, and a midnight costume contest.

The Carpenters music mixed with John Carpenter's "Halloween"? Carpenter's Halloween at Mary's Attic (5400 N Clark St.) gets super-campy in its last show of the season.

The North Halsted Halloween Parade boasts a "Rat" theme this year, and extends its route, running north on Halsted from Belmont to Addison. The free parade starts at 7 p.m., and sponsorship proceeds will benefit the construction of Space Park (815-817 W Roscoe).
