Dole's Challenger Up In Polls After "Godless" Ad

U.S. Senate candidate Kay Hagan launched legal action against Sen. Elizabeth Dole's "godless" attack ad Thursday as a chorus of critics joined her in accusing Dole of crossing the line with the controversial TV spot.

A new Rasmussen poll, taken Wednesday after the Dole ad began airing, showed Hagan ahead of Dole 52-46. A new survey by Civitas, taken Monday through Wednesday, showed Hagan up by a smaller margin.

Well people I think we have a clear picture what Republicans will do or say to win, its worked in the past and they are just going back to the well another time. Obama has been hit with everything after two prior elections which were won with nothing but smear tactics by the Republicans I think the American people have finally woke up. As a Republican who has given up on his party,(I don't think Romney would have run such a despicable campaign,I can't believe McCain did) it seems they only use the Bible when they want to hit someone with it. I thought that one of the things that the United States stands for, something that our founding fathers were unequivocal about, was that there would be no religious litmus test to hold any office in the United States.

It is one thing to hold to a certain faith, but it is quite another to make a statement about someone else's, and Elizabeth Dole should be called out for this ad as much for the act of bigotry that it perpetuates as for the blatant falsehood it contains.

Dole's campaign should have checked their facts more carefully before launching this ad. It seems that they would know that this kind of attack would backfire against someone who is so active in her church.

I remember during her husband's campaign thinking that she was a role model as the leader of the Red Cross of America. Now I see her as someone to pity and not to emulate.

Darn! Why can't Sen. Jim Inhofe R-OK do something like this or like Michelle Bachman did? He is such an embarrassment to our state. But we are pretty backward here so he does fit. Those of you not from Oklahoma should look up Andrew Rice, his opponent THIS time. He is great. Young, new, fresh ideas, very articulate, wife's a doctor, great family, you know things that many r*dn*cks and right wing religious zealots can't bring themselves to vote for. Instead we'll get the hatemonger himself - AGAIN. I think Rice has given him sort of a run - at least he's had to spend money advertising, even though he's trashing Rice - he is having to spend out of his giant campaign fund.

I wish we could have a rash of donors from around the country to help out Andrew Rice. It would be such a cause for celebration if he won!!
