Dole's Second "Godless" Ad Adds "Facts" On Hagan (VIDEO)

Undeterred by media criticism, a drop in polls, and a defamation lawsuit, Sen. Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) has released a second ad linking her opponent Kay Hagan to a group called "Godless Americans." The ad says Hagan's personal faith (which the Democrat defended in her own response ad) is "not the question."

I live in North Carolina. I was going to vote for Dole because she is the incumbent and I wasn't impressed with Hagan. Then Dole voted against the bail out. Hmm. Then I started to get really nasty robocalls. I decided I wouldn't vote for the senate seat. I continued to get nasty robocalls about liberals, unions, etc. I voted FOR Hagan as a vote AGAINST Dole. Elizabeth Dole is completely out of control.

As a Christian my greatest regret is that this stuff consistently demeans the church and chases people away fro Christ. The religious right have abandoned the church's mission and are trying to win the world by changing the supreme court.

I was raised in a mainstream protestant faith. I am an athiest today because religion simply had no meaning to me. But I know that many, or most Christians are not the haters and the judgers that these political people represent them to be. Sadly, the media is always looking for extremes, and therefore the faithful among us are dislpayed as freaks and goofballs. Most of them aren't. I feel sad for the religious who understand the message of Jesus. God is love. People such as Dole represent everything scary about extremism of any type when they contort religion to serve base personal goals.

The good thing (however) is that this is all a learning experience and hopefully things will improve a great deal in the future.

Interesting take. I don't know many people for whom Bill Clinton's statements are the gold standard of truth. In fact, I bet in any other context you would dismiss whatever Bill has to say. Somehow logic and consistency don't seem to have much appeal for right-wing shills.

I think these ads will help drag down McCain. I hope she keeps them all over the airways. Their party spreads lies and hate. Who's going to vote for that? I had 3 robo calls on my answering machine yesterday. Do they really think that's going to be effective?
