WASHINGTON - John McCain is set to appear on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" just three days before the presidential election.

Aides say the Republican presidential candidate will make a detour from battleground states to the late-night weekend show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.

Earlier this month, McCain running mate Sarah Palin and her impersonator, Tina Fey, earned "Saturday Night Live" its best ratings in 14 years. Palin's guest shot had been widely anticipated since Fey began imitating her a month ago.

McCain last appeared on the show in May, after clinching the nomination and while the Democratic primary continued.

McCain hosted "SNL" in 2002.

No. The wing of his plane was shot off, and the plane immediately went into a spin. Like many pilots under those conditions, he couldn't get tucked into proper position before ejecting because of the physical forces involved.

Ejection injuries and deaths were common among the thousands of pilots who were shot down in Vietnam, for the same reason. It's hard to control your position when your jet is tumbling a55 over teakettle. Sometimes you are pinned against the side or the roof of the cockpit. It's physics.

It's also extremely vile to go after a combat veteran for something like this. Of all the things to go after in a political opponent , this is one of the stupidest and nastiest.

Both arms were broken when he ejected, and then his shoulder was broken by the mob that pulled him from the lake. Those breaks were improperly set, and left untreated after that for the five years of captivity. One arm was re-broken during a torture session.

I question Palin's motive if she was pregnant? Most sane women go to the closest hospital instead of taking a long flight home and the a car ride to a hospital that doesn't normally deliver babies like hers. Could it be that she was hoping to put the baby in distress so that mother nature would terminate the child.
