WASHINGTON - John McCain is set to appear on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" just three days before the presidential election.

Aides say the Republican presidential candidate will make a detour from battleground states to the late-night weekend show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.

Earlier this month, McCain running mate Sarah Palin and her impersonator, Tina Fey, earned "Saturday Night Live" its best ratings in 14 years. Palin's guest shot had been widely anticipated since Fey began imitating her a month ago.

McCain last appeared on the show in May, after clinching the nomination and while the Democratic primary continued.

McCain hosted "SNL" in 2002.

Please tell everyone you know that the lines are going to be long on election day. The polls may "close" at 7 PM, but that means that anyone in line at 7 has to be given the opportunity to vote -- even if it means that they don't get to do so until 10 PM. Also, talk to an Obama poll monitor volunteer or phone the Obama office in your state 1(877) Obama __ (your state's initials) if anyone wants you to do a provisional ballot. Avoid doing this kind of ballot if you can, since 1/2 of them don't get counted.

Actually a real boycott would consist of not buying the products that are advertised on the show. No one will know if you watch it or not. I've never cared for the idea of not watching or reading or attending something just because I might be revolted by it. Besides, SNL has not been funny for over 15 years.
