I can't believe we may actually win Arizona. And I have a bonus treat for you guys:

If the 2010 election for U.S. Senate were held today for whom would you vote for if the choices were between Janet Napolitano the Democrat and John McCain the Republican?

McCain (R) 45

McCain's probable response... "What? Oh, that's NOTHING (cause I said so!), really, I really don't see why you even brought that up. You must be UnAmerican? A terrorist? A socialist? A redistributor? A tax lover? An Iranian sympathizer? A threat to freedom in general? A liberal?"

Assuming McCain does lose as badly as it appears right now, it's a stunning end to his whole Military Man Goes to Washington life story. Here's a man who, universally revered for his war service/experiences as well as nationally known after long senate service, COULD have become president at some point if he'd only stayed his old moderate self and found better advisors. Instead, it's almost like a Star Wars episode - formally decent man, tempted by the dark neocon empire led by Emperor Rove until he's essential trying to win America's trust from inside a Darth Vader suit. Although I'm thrilled to see him go down in flames since he allowed himself to be so corrupted, I also find his downfall fascinating almost like a greek tragedy, perhaps more worthy of a movie than W was.

Here in Oregon, we get the very exciting final act of watching the curtain fall on Gordon Smith and what the final tally of the Senate will be.

Hoo haaaaaw!

LISTEN ALL: Please Go Vote! There has been confirmed reports of voting fraud with the Republican Party and it's supporters. Obama is need of all the votes necessary to create a landslide. Let's make sure that our state turns blue! Bring your family and your freinds!! Wouldn't it be great to tell your kids/grandkids that you contributed to the most highlighted election in history? Voting is a right and a privilege. Let's all make history together!

As an Arizona resident, I'm struck by the remarkable absence of visible signs of support for McCain - bumper stickers, lawn signs - you just don't see them. Most residents of this state, including Republicans, barely tolerate McCain. His vindictive nature and unwillingness to fight for Arizonans is well known, and I believe many state Republicans secretly will be delighted by his national defeat, and even hope for his loss in his home state. Payback, as they say, is a b*tch.

If you are interested in pursuing McCain's nasty nature further, Google McCain and Rose Mofford, former AZ Sec'y of State, who became Governor when Evan Meacham was impeached. It's startling..and just one example of McCain going overboard to distract and divide. Arizonans remember!

It depends on what areas you go into. I've seen plenty of McCain signs in my neighborhood. But, on the bright side, for the last few days I've been receiving robocalls from the McC campaign. They are worried.....and I'm loving it!

If McCain looses this election (I have my fingers crossed) and then again in 2010, he will be back in AZ full time....and as we all know, Cindy is not used to having him around....so get ready for him to do some really ugly things as he continues on his rampage against some of the remaining pristine land in AZ. He has already sold land in a swap deal in the Tonto National Forest, worked to free up Indian lands for strip mining....as well as mining in the Grand Canyon.

As all Arizonans know, he is not a native and does not care about preserving any of the uniqueness of AZ except his, well Cindy's retreat, in Sedona. So be prepared!

As an American, I can only hope that you get your adopted son home soon, but as a native AZ, I am worried for you...but, You could consider sending him back to Panama!

Assuming that McCain loses the election, his campaign has alienated several Republican in the Senate, he's a lame duck starting 11/5/08. McCain has made himself toxic.

I tend to doubt that McCain will make it to 2010. THAT's part of what makes this election so damned important!

That would be TERRIFIC but THEY STILL OWN THE VOTE-FRAUD MACHINES.

It will take a LANDSLIDE FOR OBAMA to overcome that obstacle -- and lots of ground troops CALLING THEM ON EVERY FLIPPED VOTE.

WE CAN PARTY WHEN THE ELECTION IS OVER AND THE VOTES ARE COUNTED AND OBAMA IS ON HIS WAY TO PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE.

Not before.

John i so scared he's going to campaign in is home state on Monday. Which helps Obama because that's one less state McCain can campaign in before the election because he has to defend his home turf.

I have seen speculation that McCain may try to be a thorn in Obama's side for a couple years but not seek re-election. If polling shows a good chance of defeat, he may simply "retire" rather than get voted out.

I have listened to Janet Napolitano many times on the radio, and been very impressed. Wish she could have been Obama's running mate.

She was the first Arizona governor to go after the sleazy Mormon political patronage machine in northern Arizona. For that alone she deserves to be in the Senate.

I wonder if she has a shot at 2016? I have been wondering about setting things up for that election assuming things go well for Obama - would he consider switching Veeps for a second term considering Biden's age and the fact that he's not a potential presidential candidate.

Just think about it - new VP candidate in 2012, presumptive nominee for 2016? Napolitano could be a good choice, particularly if the GOP goes with Palin (which I have serious doubts about).

I made the same suggestion here months ago when everyone was speculating about who O would choose as his running mate. I gave a list of eight or nine reasons why she should would be ideal. One of the replies I received said that the problem with Janet is that there is some doubt as to her sexu@l orientation. No matter what that may be (and I have no idea), I'd vote for her anyhow. Sadly, though, I could see it being an issue during this race.
