Sarah Jessica Parker Works Phones For Barack Obama

Sarah Jessica Parker has left no doubt as to who she will be voting for in the US election on Tuesday, not there was much.

Wearing red, white and blue, an Obama pin and a "Change" shirt, she joined other volunteers in making calls to undecided voters at the phone bank at the Obama NYC Headquarters Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 in New York.

Parker has said son James Wilkie is an Obama fan

If you voted early, I BEG you to take the day off (or the two hours allowed by most states) and do the same!!! I've been phone banking in London & it's fabulous! Sarah JP, if you're reading this: don't listen to those cynics. I'm sure your reasons are sincere. If they'd spent their time phone banking instead of commenting on whether or not you had 'work' done, they might have as big a smile on THEIR faces as you & I do right now. And every girl knows, a genuine smile from within is what makes people beautiful. Just look at Barack Obama!

Oh and by the way yesterday was our last day in London for phone banking. The reason: everyone we spoke with has already voted absentee. Three guesses who for. : )

Thank YOU for saying that! And 'bless your cotton socks', as my English mother in law would say. Actually, we've got a good rate. And it's cheaper than flying over to volunteer in swing states, like several of my ex-pat friends are doing.

You wouldn't believe the support here for Obama. We've been at locations all round London - my group of 8 were at an old food market every Friday & Saturday since early September. We've met hundreds of ex-pats. Reached thousands in total. And people from round the world keep saying the same thing: I WISH I COULD VOTE.

I will never again be complacent about my right to vote. It isn't easy to vote absentee - each state is different, different deadlines & conditions. Terribly confusing. In the past, only 1/6th of us even bothered.

So our calls, and canvassing, has been, not to convince people WHO to vote for (that's a given), just HOW.

And it's felt like the most important, the most rewarding work I've done. I've made new friends for life. But it's 1:22 a.m. here & I'm a bit delirious. So whoever you are, Aabby, God bless you for noticing my comment. It's like a message in a bottle.

I've been involved in politics for over 30 years, and most people are swayed by soundbites, and commerical ads. High profile entertainers have the luxury of time. They make tons of money, and can afford to take time to study issues. They average person can't make a devotion to that effort.
