Do people change their mind on the final day?
No.
Here's why:

Humour is important in this long campaign of bitterness, hate speech and ruffled feelings. Laughter is the best medicine.

And as far as making fun of John McCain, I don't believe in being intentionally cruel to anyone, including other creatures like the wolves that Palin murders from helicopters; but McCain is not the only one who suffered from the VIetnam War and there are people suffering in this country and other countries today and in the past that have gone through a lot worse than John McCain. He has made a martyr of himself and since his campaign has smeared and attacked others with lies, I have no sympathy for him or his story. The fact is that he bombed people from the air and when he was captured, he was treated badly, but he did survive and possibly at the expense of his fellow POWs. Just like Bush, he is an opportunist who is not in touch with those whose suffering goes beyond physical damage, and those who have not survived the hatred of the kind of people that support him and who he incites to violence, whether intentional or not.

McCain is fair game just like any of his victims are and were - so please do not get so self righteous if someone makes fun of him and his 'short arms'.

sandrarita, agree 100% with your comments. "Mcpow" was treated better than his fellow American prisioner because his status, as son of a high member of the USA army. Being a POW mean nothing to qualify him as a posible leader of USA, in fact his reckless and lack of displine and bad judments will always be a huge liabliity he will carry it the rest of his life.

Hey Hebajebe,

What kind of person are you the way you mock John McCain's, and I quote you, "short little arms".
How low and disrespectful can a person get to make fun of another that has suffered at the hands of other cruel, cruel humans. Who could imagine the pain and suffering he and his fellow soldiers endured? To be left with life long disfigurements and pain and someone like yourself comes along and makes a disrespectful and inhuman statement.

YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. HOW UN-AMERICAN!

Who was that last guy that came on just before Letterman?

One campaign's humor is another's tragedy. It's as old as democracy itself.

McCain to Larry King: "I didn't think [Palin]'d be so controversial, but I gotta tell ya, every time I'm around her, I'm uplifted."

Ewwwwww! Talk about TMI.

Never before in the history of our nation has a presidential candidate endorsed his opponent before the presidential election has occurred.

SO AT 11PM ET ON SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2008,when John McCain announced his endorsement for Barack Obama for President of the United States, shock waves were felt around the globe!

Mr McCain in a rare moment of lucidity said "It's over and I admit I made some horrible mistakes. Among my tragic flaws was being seen with President George W. Bush several times and declaring, on one the worst days in the nation's economic history, that fundamentally our economy was strong.

And ,in an error of truly monumental proportions, I chose a vice-presidential candidate quickly, desperately and recklessly who turned out to be the laughing stock of the nation- if it weren't so threatening to the nation's security. Many of my closest colleagues and advisors realized immediately after I chose Sarah Palin that the game was over", said McCain

"The welfare of our nation is more important than a McCain/Palin victory" - said a relieved looking McCain ,thus salvaging any shred of his positive legacy that might be remaining.

Sarah Palin could not be reached for formal comment since, despite Mr McCain's decision, she decided to "dump the old guy and go it alone". Constitutional and Presidential scholars were seen advising her on the her legal options with her makeup and wardrobe team still in tow.

"In one week, you can put an end to the politics that would divide a nation just to win an election; that tries to pit region against region, city against town, Republican against Democrat; that asks us to fear at a time when we need hope. In one week, at this defining moment in history, you can give this country the change we need.....In one week, we can choose hope over fear, unity over division, the promise of change over the power of the status quo. In one week, we can come together as one nation, and one people, and once more choose our better history. That’s what’s at stake. That’s what we’re fighting for." GO VOTE NOW! Make History! Obama is need of all the votes necessary to create a landslide. Let's make sure that our state turns blue! Bring your friends and family - make it a group thing! Wouldn't you want to say 1 year from now, 5 years from now, or even 20 years from now that you contributed to the most highlighted election in US history? Wouldn't you be proud to tell your kids/grandkids years from now that you voted for this election? It will be the most talked about election for centuries. Voting is a right and a privilege. Let's all make history together!
