Cheney Stars In New Obama Ad (VIDEO)

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama highlights Vice President Dick Cheney's support for Republican nominee John McCain in a new ad out Sunday.

The ad opens by touting Obama's recent endorsements from investor Warren Buffett and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, then cuts to video of Cheney from an event Saturday in Wyoming.

"I'm delighted to support John McCain," Cheney says. "I'm pleased that he's chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president Sarah Palin."

An announcer says McCain earned Cheney's support by voting with the White House 90 percent of the time. "That's not the change we need," the announcer says.

WATCH:

The praise from Cheney, who routinely has some of the lowest approval ratings of any national political figure, came as Obama has been arguing that McCain is too closely tied to the policies of the Bush administration.

Obama's campaign said the 30-second spot would run nationally on cable channels.

I live in NYC but I'm going down to Pennsylvania this Tuesday to help get out the vote. Every time I see Palin or McCain I realize that I need to do more than donate to a campaign. Well, I decided to take a day from work and do something in a battleground state. To the Republican base I say only "NOT THIS TIME, BABY!"

I'm going to be the first one at my polling place (6am) and then I'm going to drive down to PA. Actually, I'm going with a couple of people but if I can't vote I figure my non-vote in NY is less important than getting one person to vote in PA. I wish I had done an absentee ballot but I made the plans in the past two days so I didn't have time.

And let's not forget both Obama and McCain supported the Billionaire Bailout of Wall Street.

Go ahead and voted for Obama but don't expect him to do anything much different from Bush.
