Cheney Stars In New Obama Ad (VIDEO)

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama highlights Vice President Dick Cheney's support for Republican nominee John McCain in a new ad out Sunday.

The ad opens by touting Obama's recent endorsements from investor Warren Buffett and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, then cuts to video of Cheney from an event Saturday in Wyoming.

"I'm delighted to support John McCain," Cheney says. "I'm pleased that he's chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president Sarah Palin."

An announcer says McCain earned Cheney's support by voting with the White House 90 percent of the time. "That's not the change we need," the announcer says.

WATCH:

The praise from Cheney, who routinely has some of the lowest approval ratings of any national political figure, came as Obama has been arguing that McCain is too closely tied to the policies of the Bush administration.

Obama's campaign said the 30-second spot would run nationally on cable channels.

Just returned from the Obama rally in Columbus OH. The weather perfect over 70 degrees. The crowd FOREVER! Gov Strickland said that it was the largest political event ever in OH. The Statehouse area was PACKED on all corners and the crowds amazing. (*-*)

Cheney has the lowest approval rating of any national public office holder in history at 9%. Hell...Spi­ro Agnew had public aproval rating of 11% even AFTER he was indicted for bribery.

Gosh I can't stand that Dick Cheney!!! I mean who does he think he is! In 2006 he made over 8 million dollars and donated 6.9 million or 73% of his and Lynn's income to Charity! Haven't seen this one yet in Ca. but did see the return of Rev. Wright this morning. It made me laugh.
Of coors the clip has the worst of Wright's remarks, but the chickens comming home to roost was left out. Did he really think this would be the game changer? Ha Ha Ha!

Why are they only running this on cable? The GOP is running Wright ads nationally on real networks. I think it is a big mistake not to run this on networks that everyone can watch.
