Cheney Stars In New Obama Ad (VIDEO)

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama highlights Vice President Dick Cheney's support for Republican nominee John McCain in a new ad out Sunday.

The ad opens by touting Obama's recent endorsements from investor Warren Buffett and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, then cuts to video of Cheney from an event Saturday in Wyoming.

"I'm delighted to support John McCain," Cheney says. "I'm pleased that he's chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president Sarah Palin."

An announcer says McCain earned Cheney's support by voting with the White House 90 percent of the time. "That's not the change we need," the announcer says.

WATCH:

The praise from Cheney, who routinely has some of the lowest approval ratings of any national political figure, came as Obama has been arguing that McCain is too closely tied to the policies of the Bush administration.

Obama's campaign said the 30-second spot would run nationally on cable channels.

Cheney, despising McCain, must have attained an extremely pleasurable sense of release and satisfaction when he gave McCain the ultimate stab: Et tu Cheney?

Now, why can't John Edwards let Sarah share in the pain with a ringing endorsement of his own, like, "Sarah Palin adds that extra ingredient to the Republican ticket which makes it impossible for someone like me NOT to endorse it!" Perhaps Gov. Dean could toss in one his craftily augmented whoops, as well!

(Note: Doing something to HELP Obama's campaign really helps with all the nervous energy--you are actually using that energy to help the campaign which can relieve stress!! The timing of this endorsement is very interesting. Two days before the vote? Why now? Is this to bring in the "undecided hawks"? Why not before? Did he think that Obama would not be able to use this at this late in the game?
I just contributed again to Obama with the hope that the ad goes on all channels, not just cable. It should be played over and over again until Tuesday.
Why have I not heard more about Reagan's Chief of Staff's endorsement of Obama? Consevatives worship at Reagan's shrine and hate Cheney.
