Elizabeth Dole's "'Godless Americans' Ad Is Blowing Up In Her Face"

Liddy Dole deserves to lose for so many reasons. But, in the end, Dole really did herself in with that "godless" ad she ran against Kay Hagan. Public Policy Polling's blog, (PPP is based in North Carolina) had this analysis:

It is pretty clear to me based on our polling this weekend that Kay Hagan will be headed to the US Senate unless something very bizarre happens in the next 72 hours. While numbers in the races for President and Governor are basically unchanged from last week there has been clear movement away from Elizabeth Dole, a sign that her 'Godless Americans' ad is blowing up in her face.

After the Presidental race this is the one I've been following most and I've never set foot in NC. Dole needs to be booted out. Out of D.C., out of North Carolina, out of the country. That ad went beyond tasteless.

Given the nature of this year's primary contest and with Obama likely to become president shortly, I think there may be only two minorities left in America who cannot yet reasonably aspire to have someone like them become president ... gays and athiests.

I wonder how long it will take for these bigotry barriers to be overcome.

Here's hoping that Libby Dole, the Ethel Merman of the GOP, finally gets her just rewards and she finally booted out of office. She and her husband Bob can then both give a commercial endorsement to Cialis and we can look forward to seeing them both in a mud bath on HDTV in the near furture.
