Enjoyed my drink ~ thank you Starbucks!

Well, I don't usually go to SB's - and I always have my own cup. But in my neighborhood - Bay Area, CA., they say they will give everyone a cup who asks for it. Whether you have proof of voting or not (which is legal). It's on them, so why not!

With my money, I go to Peet's or my local coffee spot.

Starbucks LIED!

My daughter went to a Starbucks in New Orleans about 20 minutes ago to get me a cup of coffee. She told them she voted and they said, "So?"

That's the LAST time I'll ever go to a Starbucks ANYWHERE! We have the best coffee in the world right here in New Orleans anyway.

Oh give me a break! Did you consider that *maybe* this employee made a mistake (from honestly didn't know about the promotion to flat out didn't care to ask the boss?). No company anywhere on earth has 100% perfectly informed employees.

They're so full of themselves. I take my business elsewhere. We need to go back to having lots of independents to choose from. Cookie-cutter chains are so boring, anyway. But the problem is they know there's no real competition so they get swelled heads and act like they're doing you a huge favor. They figure where else are you going to go have a good cup of coffee.

More stuff: http://lifehacker.com/5075721/election-day-freebies-roundup But what the hell is an "I voted" sticker? I've only been a registered voter since 1970 and have never heard of them. Are they like the little gold stars you get in Kindergarten?

Hey everyone! I just watched a hysterical video by some guys from Scranton, PA who thought making a satire about Palin would be a good idea! Heres the link if you want to watch it:

Please, if you get your free coffee, bring your own mug or take the cup with you and put in recycle bin when done. Starbucks does NOT recycle any of the cups that overfloweth in all the trash bins at their gazillion stores. It is so wasteful. 10 minutes to drink a coffee, 100 years in a landfill. They need to get green one of these decades. A free coffee is not worth tons more trash.

Amen to that...just as the plastic bag is slowly being phased, so should the paper cup. By now every coffee-drinking person should own a thermos anyway.

Your own cup needs washing. Recycling the paper cup is a good idea. Starbucks has enough of them to actually make some money doing it too.

Yep. Just one more problem with that silly chain. Wasteful to the hilt, and clueless to boot.

Just read an article in my local paper (AJC) that apparently it's a FELONY to offer any incentives/gifts/offers to entice people to register or to vote. And it's a penalty for the recipient too. And given that our Sec. of State is corrupt and evil (and of course) Republican, I wouldn't want to risk my vote counting for even a great cup of coffee (which Starbucks isn't). A lot of places here in Atlanta had offered specials - half off at a restaurant, etc. - but have rescinded the offers. Sad really. What's the point, somehow you're corruptable for a $3 cup of coffee? It's for every voter, not just one party.

Too many coffee snobs here to count. Actually you all sound like a bunch of whiney GOP'rs. Geeeeesh. Starbucks is offering a solid cup of coffee for FREE to you when you vote. The proper response is "Thank You".

They have tea. I don't know if you'll get it for free, though. It would be only fair.

Starbucks has had poor coffee since the wizz at the top of the food chain there thought up Lightnotes Blends so he could sell coffee to people who didn't like the old style Starbucks coffee. The wizz even opened a roasting plant in York, Pennsylvania -- quite a long way from an ocean. After that he turned the chain into a purveyor of coffee-flavored milkshakes, and sold it to a new owner who ran the business even farther into the ground. Then he bought it back. Unfortunately, most people can't tell the difference between poor coffee and good coffee. Great coffee is something they never find at Starbucks, but hey! ... It's got caffeine, right? Unfortunately, there's still no "standard of identity" that controls what some chicaner can put into a coffee blend, so now that the wizz has taken control of Starbuke again you can count on the quality going even farther down hill.
