Hay, as an American who lives abroad, but I voted - can I get one in Canada? We have them every couple of blocks!
Oh, brother. Already there's too many chainstores ruining the landscape all over the world!
Let's give these big conglomerates a rest already and let the unique cafes and other shops have a go at it for once in thirty years!
Ask for a free cider. It's not bad. What do you have to lose?
I believe we have a few too many killjoys on this post! I'm looking forward to my Grande thank you.
Yeah, I agree if they hooked me up with a cafe latte than I'd take them up on their offer, otherwise no thanks.
What about a mocha-frap drizzle no whip? huh Starbucks? What about that?
Oh Gawd, you were probably one of those folks who drove around with that bumper sticker that said: " Friends Don't Let Friends Drink Starbucks Coffee" - Well - I made my own bumper sticker that said: "Friends Don't TELL Friends Where to Drink Their Friggin Coffee" Huh Romeo? What about that?
BTW - I like Starbucks, Peets, even Macdonald's makes a decent cup of plain coffee, I try not to be a coffee SNOB - lol
Erm, do you think that a coffee snob drink a mocha-frap drizzle no whip?? LOL.
Try coming to Europe.
Yeah, except that everyone is pretty much 'told where to drink their friggin coffee" when big shark-chains have eaten up all the quaint little unique cafes in this country.
They said free coffee, not a free meal.
Years ago Trader Joe's grocery stores here in SoCal used to give a candy bar to anyone who presented a ballot stub as a reward for voting. They did this for several years, but the state eventually made them stop because it was deemed an illegal inducement to vote under applicable law, which says no one can receive anything of value in exchange for voting.
Where's Elliot Ness when we need him?
The world would be a much better place if everyone had a Trader Joe's down the street.
But even better still if all the unique little stores with fine quality products were not swallowed up by big-shark chains. We need to get back to competition, which is choice for the customer.
Conglomerate chains--even nice ones-- get swelled heads, which makes under-par customer service a regular affair.
They don't need any more advertising.
No - the ad said to tell them, doesn't mention proof. I really don't think they are going to have a run on people lying - now if you are a repub you might think that, but a democrat has a more favorable view towards humankind's ability to be decent, nice, and fair.
There is a receipt on the top of the ballot that states to cut it off as your receipt/proof of voting.
Ah-ha . . . I found a Sacramento Bee article that confirms that such is illegal in federal elections: http://www.sacbee.com/111/story/574923.html : "Gifts, monetary or otherwise, are banned in federal elections, but they're allowed in state contests – so long as the giveaway doesn't depend on voting for or against a particular candidate or issue."
HOW is this illegal? Are they telling you who to vote for? no.
It is illegal because that is federal law, according to credible reports. I didn't make it up. Nothing new about it. This sort of thing comes up every four years somewhere.
I am pretty sure that is illegal -- to offer anything of value in exchange for voting.
I think the deal is that as long as they don't ask for proof, it's okay. All you have to do is SAY that you voted.
I heard that Ben & Jerry's stores are giving away free ice cream if you say that you voted. Krispy Kreme has special donuts for voters, but I think they're asking you to show your "I Voted" sticker -- they might have to rescind that requirement.
Welllll, don't get your cup of joe, I am a coffee fiend and when I see free good coffee, I gotta have it......
'bout time Starbucks did something civic, community minded. They don't even recycle at their 44,000 stores. Sorry, too little, way too late.
I know where I'm going as soon as I get my "I am a Georgia Voter" Sticker on Tuesday.
Humanness & business. Nice combo. I sure couldn't afford to treat even two people to coffee. Better to have something poured into a cup rather than all of the money and jobs siphoned overseas during the Bush years. A cup of coffee won't solve any of our problems. But if not us, it will make somebody's day. Maybe this will prompt others to do a good deed unless they read some of these comments and think unfavorable remarks will be made about them as well.
I don't know about all you jokers but I'm getting myself a cup of joe Tuesday....
Here, Here! Well spoken!
They actually use Gotham (Obamas Campaign Font).

The figures 5 and 4 are quite characterising.
