Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says 166 teams of investigators throughout the state will be monitoring the general election.

Madigan says it's to ensure that voting rights are protected on Tuesday.

On Sunday Madigan's office announced that 125 teams will be assigned throughout northern Illinois including Chicago. Another 41 teams will observe activity in the rest of the state.

Investigators will be looking at any claims of voter fraud or voting irregularity.

The attorney general's office is also reminding voters of their rights.

For one, if a voter makes a mistake or spoils a paper ballot and it hasn't been cast, the voter has the right to receive a replacement ballot.

Also, no one is allowed to try to influence a voter within 100 feet of a polling place.

I cannot post and repost this enough! I voted this week (10 minute wait at lunch time) and there is important information for you need to have when you go: You need to print and write your name as it is registered exactly with the State. And if you live in an apartment make sure it is considered an "apartment" and not a "Unit". I live in an already heavily GOP contested (infested?) swing state and surely would have messed up the "apartment versus unit" situation if I hadn't had my info from the local Secretary of State. In New Mexico it would have been kicked out as an irregularity! So if you don't have the mail from Sec of State please call and square it away before your vote is contested by the GOP as it is here! Just go prepared. When I went to fill out my card to get a nice paper ballot and I had my registration info to refer to - the first thing out the volunteers mouth was "you don"t need that here". Well, yes I did! And so do you, so go prepared. (1-866-OUR-VOTE)

Also: Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4th. Period. Guaranteed. Not Nov. 5th.

Be very suspicious (as in, totally disbelieving) or any last-minute message that your polling station has been moved. Contact your Secretary of State to find out where to vote, if you're a first-time voter.

If in doubt about anything election-related, ask a knowledgeable Democrat official. If you can't find such, ask a knowledgeable Republican official and then do the opposite. (Republicans lie.)
