I Like ItI Don’t Like It

MSNBC will have hosts AND an anchor on election night, according to Chris Matthew on "Hardball." After Matthews and Olbermann got removed as official election anchors for the final debates, with David Gregory taking the role, the network announced their election night plans as follows:

MSNBC's Election Night coverage kicks off at 5 p.m. ET, anchored by David Gregory with Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and Eugene Robinson at MSNBC Election Headquarters in New York. "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough will join to provide analysis based on his years of experience in the House of Representatives. Norah O'Donnell will report on the challenges facing the incoming administration...

But Monday Chris Matthews announced he and Olbermann are "hosts":

Please join me and Keith Olbermann as we host MSNBC's election night coverage, and there's nothing like it anywhere else. And David Gregory anchoring."

Good. I look forward to seeing their comments on a live stream, if MSNBC will give one.

Thank you let's get rid of the republican shill David Gregory. I don't know why anyone give anchor position. He is boring.

I think David Gregory brings down the hosts and Rachael. He has apologized for the Republicans and Fascists of our government too long. He pretends to pretend that he is not pretending to be the water carrier for the Bushies. He is a fake journalist.

All weekend he was saying "Keith and I will co-host, and David will be anchoring". So together Matthews and Olbermann are 'hosting' yes.

really
aren't they on the bottom of the ratings

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:04 PM on 11/03/2008

No. CNN is, followed by O'Really.

Actually, no. Haven't you heard that Keith has beat out Bill O'Reilly like five nights in a row and Bill-O is demanding an investigation into the Nielson Ratings? He says there is a conspiracy.

No they are doing very well. Countdown is beating The Factor in the demo ratings more often than not now, meaning its officially Number One in the demo ratings, or at the very least a very close second. Countdown is secure in second place in the overall viewership figures, as The Factor has an edge on them by just over a million in that, but the margin on that is closing.

Here is the ratings from Friday October 31st (latest avalilible)

7PM - P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Fox Report w/ Shepard Smith – 1,964,000 viewers (503,000) (888,000)
Lou Dobbs– 959,000 viewers (282,000) (432,000)
Hardball w/Chris Matthews—1,316,000 viewers (466,000) (666,000)
**Is Your Money Safe (7PM-9PM)—219,000 viewers (87,000) (136,000)
Issues– 290,000 viewers (98,000) (156,000)

8PM - P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor—3,528,000 viewers (746,000) (1,413,000)
Campbell Brown—1,172,000 viewers (435,000) (573,000)
Countdown w/Keith Olbermann- 2,312,000 viewers (845,000) (1,162,000)
Nancy Grace –848,000 viewers (268,000) (412,000)

That's the ratings for just one day, not the averages, but as you can see saying their ratings "suck" is basically wrong

The fact that Bill O'Reilly has accused the Nielsen company of being in a conspiracy to rig the ratings because 24 employees (or, as the Nielsen CEO sarcastically put it, 0.004% of their work force) donated to the democratic candidate should show you his true feelings on this.

Well maybe MSNBC finally got the hint that Gregory, along with Brokaw, are not tasty enough for people with brains to feed them the feast tomorrow night.
Gregory?? YUCK!!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:47 PM on 11/03/2008

Ah man. Gregory?

That's where I was going to watch, but not if I have to listen to that guy.

What a terrible decision.

Does anyone else out there think Stephanie Miller, who usually appears on Larry King, would be an excellent addition to msnbc?
