Howard Dean puts out a last-minute Get Out The Vote message for Barack Obama:

Kombiz Lavasany of the DNC writes:

Over the last few days Governor Dean has been barnstorming swing states helping to get out the vote for Democratic candidates. Just over the last weekend Governor Dean's visited North Dakota, Minnesota, Washington, Oregon and today Governor Dean fired up the troops for Barack Obama in Arizona.

There's no question that we're not leaving anything on the table and not taking any vote for granted. But you need to do your part too. The time for rallies and speeches is over so Governor Dean recorded a short message from the road asking you to make sure to get out the vote today and tomorrow.

Howard Dean should have been our '04 candidate. People who thought "the scream" was a sign we should nominate that stick in the mud Kerry were wrong.

But that's water under the bridge.

LET'S FREAKIN' VOTE!!!!

I always liked Howard Dean. He always made the unforegivable mistakes of a) being a decent guy and b) saying what he thought.

I got to the polls at 5:30am in Franklin Township, NJ. I was 53rd in line. The polls opened promptly at 6am and I was done in less than 5 minutes. By the time I left there were over 200 people in line. It's the largest line I've seen in my 32 years as a voter.

It's a great day for America.

I'm off to Obama HQ to see if I can help out. Maybe your local HQ can use YOUR HELP.

GET OUT THE VOTE !

Wow! I've voted in NJ (Matawan) since the late 80's and never saw anything like that. This is awesome news, especially since NJ is in no danger of turning red this election. Even so, anything to bump up the popular vote and provide Obama with a clear mandate is a good thing!
This year I'm overseas but I was sure to send in my absentee ballot in mid October. I checked with the Div. of Elections and they've received and accepted my vote! Go, go, go Obama!

I had to wait in line 20 minutes which is unprecedented in this small rural area. Usually you're the only one voting. The gentleman in front of me was a very old Black man who was almost completely blind. After he and the person assisting him had cast their votes, he turned from the voting booth with a big smile and tears were just running down his face. I don't know this man or his story, but it was the most touching moment I have ever personally witnessed at the polls. Seeing him, brought tears to my eyes

We are college students, and we have exams on Tuesday, so instead we drove 360 miles (rountrip) to our home precinct and cast our votes Monday. It was a long trip, but at least the gas was cheaper than it's been in a long time. We live in a red state that is leaning republican, but we still wanted our voices heard.

My four year old was very patient on the long drive. We brought plenty of activities to keep her busy. She was excited to go into the polling place so we could vote for "Bawok Obamwa" (as she calls him). On the way home she said, "I hope Bawok Obamwa wins the contest and not that John McCain!" I said, "I hope so too baby." I can't help, but wonder if she will remember this when she is older.

Voting in our tiny town was simple; there was no standing in line or waiting required. I was a bit paranoid and double checked my ballot, making sure I filled in the bubble correctly and completely. I am hopeful that Obama wins. My daughter's future depends on it.

Howard Dean Take a bow! A huge share of the credit for this goes to you, and deservedly so. God bless you for your vision and the courage to do things your way and turn things around despite the DNC conventional wisdom.

I live in California, and I voted on friday. The Registrar's office was busy, but everything was smooth and efficient. When I left, the waiting line was significantly longer than it had been when I'd arrived. California is STOKED! Bush is definitely not loved, here, nor McCain either. Obama has a 22 point lead in the polls here the last time I checked. Of all the things I worry about tomorrow, Californian voters blowing this election off is the least of them. Today, on the front page of the San Jose Mercury, the line at that same registrar's office was out the door. People were standing in the rain waiting their turns to vote. I expect they'll be voting in droves tomorrow.

Obama/Biden '08!!!!
