Adam Mckay: A Letter for McCain Supporters' Eyes Only:

If you're voting for McCain and you've clicked to read this I promise this will be pain free and fast. First off, I respect you for voting tomorrow. Right away you've set yourself above the apathetic millions and clearly you care about this country. Before you punch, click or fill in your ballot for John McCain I would like to have a small one sided non-argumentative conversation with you as a person who also cares whether this country continues to grow and flourish or not. Hilary Rosen: May 13, 2006 -- The Day that John McCain Lost the Election:

May 13, 2006 is the day that John McCain lost the 2008 Presidential Election. My friend Mike Berman reminds me that that is the day he spoke at Liberty University. In my view, that day began the destruction of one of the best brands in American politics. It is the day that Senator McCain went to kiss the ring of Jerry Falwell, a right wing preacher who McCain had called "an agent of intolerance" in 2000. His visit's purpose was to court the evangelical voters and apologize for being the independent maverick he had been over the course of the last 15 years. READ MORE

Mitchell Bard: Who Would Be a Better President? I Say, Who Ran a Better Campaign?:

I think a question every voter needs to ask himself/herself before voting is: Which candidate has run the kind of campaign operation I would like to see the federal government emulate? I think the answer to this query has a clear and simple answer: Barack Obama. I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion (any discussion, really) in any quarters (the campaigns and the media) of this simple fact. Obama's campaign has been run like a well-oiled machine (often to the frustration of his opponents), while McCain's campaign has been a circus. READ MORE

Arianna Huffington: Arianna Huffington: I'm Ready to Declare a Winner in the 2008 Race:

Okay, all the arguments have been made. And I am ready to declare a winner in the 2008 race. The Internet. (The other winner will have to wait until Tuesday night). From the way campaigns connect to supporters, to the way those campaigns are covered, to the way voters decide who to vote for, 2008 has delivered the first truly 21st century presidential race. And election night promises to fortify the Internet's victory. READ MORE

Simon Jenkins: Obama Stock Is Overpriced; Sell, Sell:

Sell Obamas now. They are overpriced and the forward market has gone crazy. If he becomes president in two days, the bubble will burst, I guess in the spring of next year. READ MORE

Seth Grahame-Smith: 7 Reasons McCain Will Win in a Landslide Tomorrow:

Back in July, I wrote a piece predicting a huge Obama win. I even offered a recipe for an Election Night drink called the "McCrush" (vodka and Orange Crush over crushed ice, served in a hollow flip-flop with a sprig of pandering). But that was an electoral eternity ago -- before the phenomenal rise of Sarah Palin, the phenomenal collapse of Wall Street, and the phenomenal scalp of Joe the Plumber. Call it my mea culpa, or my heaping serving of crow, but I feel compelled to state the obvious. John McCain will "McCrush" Barack Obama tomorrow. Here are seven reasons why. READ MORE

Amidst all the congratulations to Barack Obama from former opponents to heads of states, I have been wondering: where is Hilary? I haven't come across any public congratulations from her, nor was she present at the president elect's first press conference? Have I missed something?

So many of us in the UK stayed up all night and into the early morning. I switched between the various channels..the bbc had great coverage and i took a little of cnn...but for the ultimate in schadenfreude i flipped to Fox.....HOW I LAUGHED...obviously thinking that listening to their brand of journalism would be harmful,i stayed with the bbc..can someone tell me why 'NEVER FAIR AND UNBALANCED FOX NEWS'..have their volume level so high?...I know ' Bill O'not really' can shout and say 'shut up' but do we have to hear it at the old concorde level?...

It didnt take long for spiteful Fox talking trash on the fist salute...no doubt they want 'high five ' to be banned..meanwhile the intelligence and street cred of Sarah Appalling is coming out....but she still has a friend in O'Reilly...his comments are still the biggest joke...can you imagine if a democrat with her mindset had been made VP?...Gee..Africa is a continent?...Where is India exactly?..Do the Chinese speak Chinese?..DUH...

Its going to be a long four years and hopefully eight ,of sad losers Fox and friends to accept what has happened..listen out for the drivel of..'the popular vote'...cant they accept defeat with good grace...and Sarah no doubt thinks she has a couple of years to re invent herself...cue Fox to give her a chat show...'Sarah and furry dead animals!'..

America has over come it;s dark past, and has over come it's fear. America has redeemed itself, not because we have elected the nations first black president, but because we have elected the person best capable to do the job and he happens to be black. We should unite behind our president elect and support him in his effort to bring about positive change to our nation. I really believe that under president Obama America will be a force for good in the world. God bless our new president elect and God bless our beloved country The United States of America.

Dear President,
i know u have a big mess to fix up.... I left America and moved to Europe when Papa bush got a 2nd term... then I was working both here and in Boston. I was never for war. I've lived in Italy since 1994, when I married an italian man and we have a son.
A BIG CRY, i want to express- goes out to our boys and girls fighting the Bush War of Oil...
please save them. There is an army base near Pisa/Livorno and before I was married I'd visit to feel at home again whenever the base threw a 4th of July party or thanksgiving....
They need your help. they need hope.

Reason why you're seen such a small % b/w them is that "rural america" is still scared to vote for a nonwhite candidate. It comes down to race

Wow, I was expecting Obama to win this thing by 10 points, and the fact that he will probably win by 3-4% points, shows me that this country is still divided Blue vs Red states. This was a democratic year and McCain was just fighting an uphill battle, but this isn't going to be the seismic shift that people think, as Reagan won in 1980 by almost 10 points, and this win isn't a mandate for Obama, rather then a vote against Bush.

How will Obama govern, cater to the libs in his party, or govern like centrist like Clinton did after 1994? Should be interesting.....

It's not just Bush but the Republican Congress that up until two years ago aided and abetted him.
this is a total denunciation of the neo-con, far right agenda. As an Independent I just hope the Democrats use some restraint that the Republicans didn't. Whether this country swears off the road to the right or the left it's going to be bad for the country.

Parents- who voted for McCain- are flipping out right now. I love it, mostly because I want them to eat their words. XD

I'm filled with tears of joy and hope for our country. I have never been this wrought with emotion over a Presidential campaign in my life. This is certainly a ground breaking election, one like I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. I'm proud to have worked for such a wonderful campaign. If Barack Obama runs our country like he has his campaign, we're in for a great ride.
