Less than 48 hours before Election Day, about 4,500 people gathered on the Reitz Union North Lawn to hear Sen. Joe Biden as part of the Obama campaign's final push through Florida. ...

"I wanted to see the next vice president of the United States," said Josh Simmons, Gators for McCain chairman.

Simmons said he voted for Obama about two weeks ago.

"I've seen a different John McCain than the one I signed up to work for," he said.

On another page, a blogger named H2O accused Obama of being a coward and that we all looked at him as our God. Ridiculous to say the least.

What is cowardly is that McCain did not stand his ground and hold forth with his principles. He went ahead and allowed himself to be dictated on how to act/be/campaign by the kidnapped portion of the GOP.

This is not the party of Abe Lincoln who believed in upward mobility for everyone. My brother is a Republican who clings to the yesteryear of Lincoln but does not do any homework and sticks to party line voting for McCain without even watching one debate.

Thank goodness this guy stepped outside the box - wish we had more of them.

I sit and watch these final hours with anxious hope, the Audacity of Hope actually. The road has been long and tumultuous, the conflicts seeming insurmountable at times but the eye on the target never wavering. It's might against right and right seems to be holding it's own. My fervent prayer tonight is firstly for Mr. Obama and his family as they face the loss of what appears to be a beloved, compassionate individual. Secondly I will pray that he meet his goals towards uniting the people of this country and point us all in the direction towards healing in his grandmother honor. There is no question in my mind given what Mr. Obama has shared about this gracious women that those lessons of inclusions and unity came directly from her and his grandfather. May she rest in peace knowing that all of her efforts, though simply her job in her mind, brought to us what history will tell us is one of the greatest men of our times. Thank you Ms. Dunham and may God Bless you......

Guys and gals let's put our thoughts together and wish Obama "Luck and Safety" for tomorrow's plight. Someone is trying to bring ev.^ ilness into his life and we can stop it with our thoughts and prayers. His grandmother has passed away and another person he knew well passed today also. Let us hold strong to all GOOD THOUGHTS and keep Obama within the realm of these thoughts for his protection. Just think of holding hands with another and we're all locking fingers around him to protect him. I believe goodness is strength and we all have the strength to protect him and ourselves with our thoughts. We are more powerful than we can imagine when we stick together and protect each other. Power is in the GROUP, not the one by himself.

Think love and love will protect all.

When you buy into defamation of character, when you buy into hate your fellow Americans, when you buy into fear of the unknown but are willing to stay the course to damnation, when you base your vote on the color of a candidates skin and ignore his leadership, when you preach Christian behavior and accept the person's violations of the 10 commandments and ignore unconstitutional laws being legislated, when you ignore the economic meltdown caused by 8 years of corrupt government, when you forget an illegal war resulted with untold number of deaths of American soldiers and Iraqi and Afghanistan innocent men women and children, when you recall the many corrupt Republican congressmen that were forced to retiree and have been convicted of felonies, when you you think of a candidate who has supported Bush 92% of the time, and whose candidacy is based on his POW experience, and when you realize how the standard of living has drastically declined for tens of millions of Americans under Bush these past 8 years, when you hear McCain accuse the democrats of being the 'tax & Spend' party when history shows just the opposite with both Reagan and George Bush increasing our national dept by $6 Trillion between them, and compare the 'Ol' Boy' mentality with Obama's youthful inspirational view of our future...

then either 'Stay the Course' or vote for the 'Change we Need'?

Go Obama/Biden, but not enough will change unless we take away the abiity of the pivately owned Federal Reserve to control our money supply and continue to add to our debt. Do people realize that we (the federal government) are borrowing money from the Federal Reserve (a bunch of private bankers) to bail out a bunch of private bankers so that they can continue to loan us back our own money on which we will pay interest back to the profits of private bankers? They are making money out of thin air - literally. Why don't we do it ourselves and pay ourselves interest, just like Abraham Lincoln did!

BECAUSE: we have learned quite a lot about banking and economics since Abraham Lincoln's time. That's why we don't have the kind of devastating economic panics that created more misery in the 1800's than the Depression of the 1930's ever did - just read the histories of the people who actually lived through each of those.

If you think the Fed "just prints" money, and that the Fed is the problem, then you have been reading too many ignorant, Ron Paul-type conspiracy theory pamphlets.

I realize that learning actual economic theory may seem dry and boring to people, but that's exactly how you need to educate yourself to avoid falling for these fear-mongering pamphleteers.

Do your homework - the Fed is not evil. It's also not nearly as powerful as its detractors fear.

If you really want a healthier economy: vote people into office who will get us out of unnecessary wars, and who will work to offer all people health insurance and better education.

I believe when you see someone go so off the tracks, go so divisive and so hateful you have a responsibility to rebuke them.

McCain should have been told to stop his ways long time ago. I am glad that some people are looking at integrity and character and voting Obama
