Just when you thought it was safe to focus on the issues in this historic election season, a chain of sex toy shops has joined retailers, restaurateurs and other businesses across the nation in the time-honored tradition of rewarding Americans who go to the polls.

Babeland, with stores in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle, is offering a pair of self-gratifying incentives for voters who present their registration cards, ballot stubs or "word of honor" that they voted next Tuesday.

The rewards are no-so-subtle reminders of this year's campaign rhetoric. For men, it's the "Maverick," a "sleeve" for self-pleasuring. According to a press release, "He's always there to lend a hand, he works for every man, and he bucks the status quo." Women can choose the "Silver Bullet" mini-vibrator, which is "a magical solution to difficult problems" and "a great stress-reliever during these troubled economic times!" The promotion lasts through Nov. 11.

Is this allowed? I was just informed by someone in the media, that Starbucks has to rescind its "free coffee for voters" thing tomorrow, because its against the law for a business to offer incentives to vote.

NO, it's still happening. It's only good after you vote, and no one is telling you how to vote.

Yes, I heard a sign-toter tell a bicyclist about the free coffee offer -- just 90 minutes ago. I was walking from the O call center to my workplace.

GO VOTE NOW! Make History! Obama is need of all the votes necessary to create a landslide. Let's make sure that our state turns blue! Bring your friends and family - make it a group thing! Wouldn't you want to say 1 year from now, 5 years from now, or even 20 years from now that you contributed to the most highlighted election in US history? Wouldn't you be proud to tell your kids/grandkids years from now that you voted for this election? It will be the most talked about election for centuries. Voting is a right and a privilege. Let's all make history together!
