WKRC:

The US Senate race in Kentucky has been a mean-spirited fight and won't likely end in a knockout. Long-time Republican Senator Mitch McConnell is locked in a close race with Democratic businessman Bruce Lunsford. Several polls show it is the closest race since McConnell was first elected in 1984.
...

Sen. Mitch McConnell, R, Kentucky: "So, the issue here in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell for me is not just carrying the county. I want to beat him like a drum."

I am embarrassed to be in such a red state but alot of people here just are'nt very smart. McConnell needs to go and I hope my vote at 6:30 am will help do just that.

I knew he looked familiar, but wasn't sure why. Now I know. His facial expression and eyes are almost identical to a Great White Shark's.

You know he might be reading these posts. How is he, or others not under the spell, to take them? The comments all sound down right mean. I thought this was the time for "change", bi-partisanship government, everybody come-on-in, kumbaya, etc.
This is about what I figured.

Yes, I agree, we should be bi-partisan. Left and EXTREME Left. :) When Mitchey sees all the Democrats in Congress, he's going to WISH he was back home, hiding.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with that man's face? He looks like he's in over-eager drool mode 24/7.

It's probably not going to happen, but Lunsford ekeing out a win over mush-mouth Mitch, especially if it were due to high African-American turnout, would be the sweetest victory. Next up: Crazy Jim Bunning.

I'm a Catholic (EX-Republican) who's constantly on my knees praying that McConnell and his GOP cronnies will be defeated and honest man/women of integrity and character be elected for the benefit of OUR INNOCENT children who have suffered as a result of McConnell and the Bush Administration!

Hey, good luck with that, Mitch.

Pfft....

I hope Lunsford beats you like a rented mule.

The 'Drumbeat' began some time ago. McConnell, Stevens, McCain and some other tone deaf career Senators just haven't heard it (yet).

The 'Smart" ones like Lott, Craig, Domenici .....at least can hear.

Enjoy your retirement. If you keep quiet for a change you just might stay out of jail.

"I want to beat him like a drum"

McConnell should keep his secret sexual fantasies to himself.

Not surprising he wants to "beat" off his opponent.

McConnell's biggest campaign pitch is that Kentucky will lose clout if he loses and that he brings a lot to the state because of his seniority in the Senate. Pay attention, Kentucky. If McConnell wins, he still loses clout and Kentucky loses. His days of influence are over.

hmm, that poses an interesting question for Kentuckians (sp?).

Do they stay with McConnell who will most definetly be in the minority party that would have gotten even smaller and with a lot less power.

Or.

Do they go for the new guy who will however be in the majority party with all the power of a Dem POTUS, a Dem House of Rep., and a Dem Senate behind it.
