Mercenary Firm Offers To 'Detain Troublemakers' On Election Day

Danger Room:

CIA-linked private military contractor Evergreen Defense & Security Services offered to post sentries at Oregon election offices on Tuesday, "detaining troublemakers" and making sure voters "do not get out of control."

In an e-mail to local election supervisors, obtained by the McMinnville, Oregon News Register, Evergreen president Tom Wiggins said he "recognized the potential conflict" that could occur on November 4th. "Never has there been a more heated battle in the race for president."

The good people of Oregon need to understand that security firms like these have absolutely no authority over them. Not to detain them, not to arrest them, not to take their possessions. It's like hiring any bum off the street and asking them to work for you. They are thugs for hire. Ignore them at best and if they get in your face exercise your 2nd amendment rights and your duty to protect yourself, your family and your property.

In 1998 voters passed a ballot measure directing all elections to be conducted by mail, commonly called Vote By Mail. Instead of using traditional polling places where voters go to cast ballots on election day, a ballot is mailed to each registered voter. The ballot is then returned to the county elections office and is counted on election day.

I definitely think that is entirely just posturing, because Oregon has a mail in ballot system. If any state wasn't going to have any problems on election day it would be mine. Every state should be set up like Oregon's , I actually get to sit down in my own home and study all of the ballot measures and candidates and make an EDUCATED and unrushed decision on where my state and country is going.
