Politico:

CBS's Katie Couric asked Obama in an interview that aired just now about the Pennsylvania Republican Party ad using Wright, and whether he blames McCain for it.

"The McCain campaign has been pretty restrained on that front, and I think they deserve...credit for that," he said.

And he explained the decision not to respond to that and to another that's airing more widely.

Wright ad has been airing here in NJ on several station all day. Every time I see that ad I think of
fondly of my crazy aunt Betty, who 90% of the time was a kind care person. But there was that 10%
when she would get on a roll speaking out with such anger and intolerance about everyone. My mon and dad would give us kids a look which meant be quite and don't laugh. Aunt Betty made the best
lasagna.

This had me grinning, Daly. My name is Curtis, I'm an uncle and the lone progressive/ liberal in the family. Over time the neices and nephews have learned the shh method on certain topics, especially around election seasons.

This year, oddly enough, I've been getting the silent treatment for the most part. Maybe they suspect something we all know is coming? In any case it looks like thier team will flame out this year and it couldn't have come at a better time.

That ad is showing all across the country and in Canada, even for one reason. Because they know they're going to lose and they're causing trouble for Barack.

Not to mention stirring up those "good ole boys" in the south.

I have a bad feeling about this.

One candidate has spent 95% of his time during this campaign talking about the issues and his plans for this nation. The other has spent 95% of his time bashing his opponent. There are two primal emotions. One, fear, originates in the amygdala. It helped our ancestors survive things in the ice ages. The other, love, originates in the prefrontal cortex. It is the divine emotion. If you think it through, all the negative emotions are based in fear - prejudice; the fear someone different will take what we think is ours. Avarice, rage, hatred, intolerance, jealousy and apathy are all based in fear. All of the positive emotions; kindness, empathy, compassion, tolerance, generosity and forbearance, are based upon love. I have never seen a campaign where this contrast is so stark. As FDR said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!" Sen. Obama has given this nation something it has not had in some time - hope. Hope is based in love. Which will you choose? I choose the candidate of hope, not the candidate of fear.

Yes! And their ads dramatically underscore this. McCain's ugly Wright ad, brilliantly contrasted by Obama's with Paul Simon singing----simply beautiful.

I didn't appreciate having to see that ad while watching my KO, Rachel and Chris Matthews tonight. At least, I got to see a pretty nifty ad from the progressive future group which featured McCain hugging Bush. But that Rev. Wright crap and this freedom group got on my f'ing nerves tonight. I will be highly dissapointed tomorrow to see McCain-Palin win when they have used all the dirty tricks in the book. Even tonight, they couldn't come up with a closing argument that would compel voters to vote for them. Outrageous

don't know how "poor" J. McCain's campaign is... he's got friends running Rev Wright and "not fit to lead" ads in SEATTLE of all places!

Truth is that Obama going to church and listening to Wright for 20 years is more comforting than McCain not going to church and pretending he does!

HOOOO RAY. I know I don't agree with my minister on everything. Amazing isn't it? And to think he encourages us to question him, our beliefs and what we are spoon fed.

Despicable, and low down politicking for sure! I would think that the honorable thing to do by the McCain campaign would be to put a moritorium on attacks with the death of Toot! The thing is though that they lack class in the first place...

For me this shows Obama's generosity of spirit, more than anything else. Let's just hope people are better than the McPains make them out to be, and Obama's faith in their better natures prevails.

Apprently, those ads did not work in the small town of Dixvill Nott, NH. They were only 21 people voting, and McCain got 6 vote, and Obama got 15. This was just on MSNBC.

I just saw it.........it was so cute. Although, I did detect one guy who did not look to pleased. He had his back to the camera, i saw him shake his head when the vote was announced. I guess he was one of the 6 out of 21 who voted for McCain. :))

The scum is broadcasting scum. To wit: Palin's being "blessed" by a witch doctor. That's all I'm going to say.

I'm in verra blue San Diego and the awful Wright ads are airing it seems like every 10 minutes on MSNBC. After KO, I've been switching around so I don't have to deal with them as often, but jeebus, it's riduculous.

Just remember that Obama sitting in church thinking about what was being said is much more comforting than McCain pretending to be religious.
