I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Barack Obama taped an interview with ESPN's Chris Berman that ran tonight during Monday Night Football. Obama exhorted people to vote regardless of their political preferences, and he answered questions about the long campaign and the best sports-themed advice he'd ever received. Obama, asked by Berman which rule in sports he would change if he could, very sensibly called for playoffs for college football to determine a national champion: "I am fed up with these computer rankings."

Get rid of the BCS and have a football championship tourney.

Get rid of the electoral college.

Go Trojans! We are! SC! We are! SC!

To help fight anxiety about tonight's outcome, here's some feel-good Obama that you can watch between rounds of phone-banking:

Like everything else he has said, he is making good sense. He got my vote, and the playoff system would get my vote too. While we are at it, let's get rid of the Electoral College in the bargain.

That statement alone will garner him a whole lot of votes in the south. Ironically, college football is as important here as church and politics.

I'm all for a playoff system, and I say that as a fan of the current BCS number 1 team, Alabama.

ROLL TIDE!

I'm supporting Sen. Obama in this election and I've been telling people that I don't have a problem with his middle name. It's those last four letters of his last name that bother me.

But then again I'm a bitter Auburn fan, clinging to my tractor. :-)

I know this is going to sound stupid, but this may put him over the top with white men 18-34.

Whenever this subject comes up with this group, they go ballistic. Every white male I know wants a playoff system. They are sick of all of the worthless bowl games teams go to. I swear there will be a Joe the Plumber Toilet Bowl the way things are going in college football. Am I am definitely not alone.

He at least won the support of sports broadcasters across the country.

GO OBAMA/BIDEN!

Oh, yeah. VOTE!!!!!!!

A BCS change we can believe in. Almost makes we want to go out today and vote for him all over again.

Another reason to vote for Obama--he's absolutely right about having playoffs in Division 1 football! (There are playoffs for teams at smaller schools.) Vote today, and maybe our next President can push for college football playoffs as part of his inaugural speech! (KIDDING!!)
