What To Do About Election-Day Mishaps

Tomorrow is Election Day: The campaign is over, and it is time to cast your ballot at last. What could possibly go wrong?

Plenty. A poll worker may say you aren't registered. Your voting machine could malfunction. Your meddling neighbor could say you aren't eligible to vote. Or maybe you are offered a provisional ballot -- and what is the difference between regular ballots, provisional ballots and emergency ballots, anyway?

All this stuff about voting is pure crap. C'mon, people, they can design systems that track your orders at fast food restaurants, operated by junior and high school kids and not skip a beat. They can screen your ATM cards without missing a beat. You can buy gas anywhere in the country with your credit card.

Touch screens and scanners are way better than they try and portray them to be. If there are problems with these machines, you can bet that most are caused intentionally. To suggest that the people who build these machines are confronted with a daunting task is pure bull. If it were not, then these companies need to get out of the business and should be ashamed.

No, folks, these machines are being gamed. And, the voters lose.

These aren't mishaps, they're voter suppression, intimidation and fraud as well as the rigging of the election and attempted if not actual theft of the electoral process, making our nation a fraud as a participatory democracy.­..

Saturday in South Carolina at the Elections Commission = 5 hour + wait for me:

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT get discouraged. Hang tight!!!

Prepare for the longest, amusement park-like wait ever.

Bring:
1. FOLDING lawn/park CHAIR (a must!!!!)
2. Fruit, snacks, water/fluids.
3. Something to read
4. Something to hear (audio book; iPod)
5. Something to do (Game Boy; Knitting; etc.)

What this boils down to is that if there are any waits or difficulties it is better to find out and address them on Monday so you can return on Tuesday to get things resolved if absolutely necessary.
