George Stephanopoulos reports:

ABC News has projected Barack Obama for Ohio.

This is a big development -- the McCain campaign didn't have a map to 270 that didn't include winning Ohio.

And with Pennsylvania projected for Obama, unless something staggering happens, it's hard to see how McCain gets to 270.

Fox, NBC, and CNN have also called Ohio for Barack Obama. More election results here.

I am glad the McCain's sent a statement offering sympathies to Senator and Mrs, Obama.

Senator McCain-thank you for showing the world hate, lies, and robocalls do not win an election in the USA. You said you don't know why you lost. Read this message.

It's over, folks!

To Obama's grandma, "Toot": Ma'am, your grandson kicked butt today. He won by a landslide. I hope you keep praying for him and his family wherever you are right now. And thank you for helping raise such a fine person.

I just have to say something. All the pundits, especlialy Repubulican leaning ones, give McCain a pass in saying he woud've won without the stock market dro. am so pissed off with that notion,it ives Obama such disrespect. I think it would've been a tighter race-MAYBE-BUT I think the wind was at his back before,it's just the rigtht leaning media (and they ARE,contrary to popular belief) rely can't see black ma n office and ooked for legitimate ways for him to lose. Sucks.
BUT OBAMA WINS!!!!

I couldn't agree with you more. The sad thing is that at one point in time ... I really respected John McCain. And with this reasoning.... he will never truly reflect on this election and realize that his going astray is where he lost more and more supporters. He will never hold himself accountable for this loss.

I was part of Ohio's win !!! Everyone who voted and those who volunteered and canvassed, and called and walked and knocked on doors! It's all of us united together, Obama has already started by starting with each of us. This is sent from God or Whoever we believe in. Blessings...

I hate Pat Buchanan. I just mute the tv when he speaks. I hope he sinks into oblivion with the rest of the GOP

I am hoping for some serious crow eatage from some of these smug republicans who have been the news for the last 48 hours exhibiting appalling confidence that McCain was going to win.

Na na na na na. Na na na na na.
