Dennis Hopper: I Voted For Obama Because Of Palin (VIDEO)

Dennis Hopper stopped by "The View" on election day to promote his tv series "Crash." Before that though, they asked if he voted. He did, for Obama.

Hopper said that he had been a Republican since Reagan, but the choice Sarah Palin pushed him over the edge and he voted for Barack Obama instead. He then told a lovely anecdote of Obama saying kind words to him about his mother's death once.

Hopper previously said he prayed for an Obama victory, but didn't say why. Palin!

I have always admired this man. Bottom line is that he voted with his heart based on his love for this country. That says a great deal about his character. As for what he said about Obama, it only tells me that the country did a great thing on November 4. God bless America!

I have heard the piece about The Palin Factor on Fox News - what a bunch of crap. Palin was the major factor in McCain’s loss. Out of a hundred registered republicans I spoke with, 100% of them were voting against McCain - Obama or other candidate - because of McCain’s pick of Sara the Barracuda. My family of 8 voted for Obama - thanks to Sara. She is the scariest figure in today's political system in America.

What I am struck by, in listening to people famous and not so famous family colleagues and friends is that so many people have been so engaged in this election.I guess we should thank the....ahem... current president for inspiring such passion.That is probably the only nice thing I will ever say about him.Welcome Mr Hopper to the right side of history
