I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Election day had "The View" host Elisabeth Hasselbeck all hot and bothered, and she proved she has not forgotten and refuses to let anyone else forget Barack Obama's ties to Jeremiah Wright. When Whoopi tried to quiet her and educate her on what it's like to be an African American, she would not listen. "It's not right!", she kept yelling.

Finally Sherri piped up with the biggest words of wisdom directed at Elisabeth, "You can go to school all you want but you cannot understand the anger..."

I find it funny how all the blacks keep yell about how they were treated, they act like they are the only ones that has had bad things done to them. Well get over it your not the only ones who have been mistreated the Indians were trear far worse than the blacks yet you don't here us crying over spilt milk.

You have a lot of nerves. Unless you have walked in a persons shoes, you have no clue. If the Indians want to speak out against the way they have been and are still being treated, let them. However, you can not speak concerning the way black people feel until you have experience what they have and are experiencing. Maybe you are not crying because the government is taking care of you ore you are so far way on the reservations that no one can hear you. I personally would love to know what your people think, feel and how you are getting along. Don't forget, a lot of the black people in American have indian blood. My great grandmother was an indian. Also, don't forget that when black people protest and complain to win right; other races certainly benfits.

I try to watch The View occasionally but when Hasselbeck begins to get cranked up with the discredited GOP talking points, I feel myself tensing up and then soon, off goes ABC. I'm not listening that screeching nonsense.

You know, because of the videos I've seen that Hasselbeck has been in, I will NEVER watch this show
She leaves so much to be desired of a TV talk show host. I feel she is beyond education.
Let's face it she really seems to have an issue with black people, period.
I feel she's RUDE, INSENSITIVE, IGNORANT, SELFISH AND HATEFUL. What happened to this woman in her life to make her this way? I really do feel sorry for her.

While I realize this was all about Elisabeth's rant... I wanna give props for Whoopi for calmly putting her down every step of the way.

"I just want to educate you," said Whoopi.
"I don't need education!" Elisabeth responds.

Oh but Liz, you really REALLY do...

and PS: why is your name spelled so strangely? Did you mom have literacy issues? That makes me sad, but it also explains a whole lot about you.

I'm a white man and haven't personally experienced the trials and tribulations that the african-americans has had to deal with. But I don't try to act like it never happened and I actually feel for their plights. I cannot understand people like this blonde bimbo and idiots like Hannity that pick at one little clip of video from a sermon and want to rebuke Reverend Wright and even worse, Obama for merely attending his church. I actually had the brains to watch the entire sermon so that I could understand everything in context, and I completely agree with Wright's message. Anyone that can't watch the whole sermon and actually understand what it meant and actually feel your heartstrings being tugged at by the powerful message that he was speaking...then you have some serious problems.

While I haven't seen the whole sermon, I did read a transcript of it, and it certainly put his comments into perspective. I also agreed with Rev. Wright, and I'm a white middle-class guy in the state of Georgia. While I still found his words hard to hear, I still had to nod my head in agreement with the idea that any God of Love would never support our misguided actions in the middle-east (with the deaths of countless civilians) to be just and "God's Will."

I think many people realized this, or at best: only judged Rev. Wright and realized that we have to hold Obama accountable for his own words - not the words of others.

And anyone who listens to preachers understand that they don't speak in terms that work well in sound bites on the evening news. I bet my preacher, who is a Republican if I ever heard one, condemned those snippets of Wright's sermon on television, but he speaks the same sentiment all the time--that God will punish our country if we do not follow His will.

Sarah Palin's "religious advisers" were farther out there than anyone's; they believe in driving out witches. Too bad "Elizabeth" couldn't notice that....

Too bad that Elizabeth couldn't perceive that, in most cases" a "religious adviser" is merely a supporter of fascism.

Irrelevant.

Liz regurgitates. She is not capable of an original thought and totally lacks the ability to reason. She represents the braindead portion of the audience and neither ABC or Baba Wawa will ever ask her to leave. Poor Whoopy, it's like she's talking to a wall!

I totally agree with your assessment of her. It amazes me how after they correct her or prove to her that her beliefs are illogical or hypocritical she continues to regurgitate them OVER AND OVER and over and over again. What a pea brain!

I can not stand Elizabeth, she is why I stoped watching the show, I don't mind some one on the right saying their peice, but she is so vile, she belongs on fix news. She is not all that bright either, she can't have a quality debate, she rants, my how small her world must seem today, her hero saint Sarah is off to Alaska, and her shouting her hate speech at the top of her lungs did not work. Go away Elizabeth, we don't need you, you are now part of the minority. Barack Obama has won, the people have spoken, we did not give into the fear mongering.

I can't watch it either, and that's a shame, because I like Whoopie's intelligence and Joy's humor. But if I want to watch Fox (which I don't), I will turn to Fox.

Elizabeth needs to go back to school, and not to some clown college Jerry Falwell Bible institution.

I think Elizabeth is an idiot, she wants everyone to believe she knows alot, but when she starts talking, she can't always complete her sentences, because she doesn't know what she's talking about, lol,,,, I almost feel sorry for her. I can't imagine being that dumb. I wonder who her husband talks to when he wants to carry on an intelligent conversation... And yes, she should quit the view, it would be a much better show without her presence..

speaking of political figures interacting with controversial religious ones; someone should remind ms. lizzie that john mccain delivered the commencement speech at jerry falwell's liberty university in 06. and here are some lovely falwell gems:

"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharaoh's charioteers ... AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals."

"The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'" --on the 9/11 attacks

very nice, elizabeth. thank you for your oh-so deep and well thought out input. NOT! oh, and a little tip to help make life easier: do not SCREAM at WHOOPIE GOLDBERG!

I agree with you. Elizabeth is so weak minded that she thinks that Obama must be weak minded, too. I'm sure there were things that Obama heard at Trinity that he didn't agree with, but he stayed because of the fellowship with like believers, his friendship with Wright and the overall good work the church and Wright did in Greater Chicago.

I think Rev. Wright got a bad deal. I don't believe he is a racist or anti-American. He just speaks his mind on things that have gone wrong in this country. His opinions about 9-11 are really no different from Ron Paul. Wright just speaks from a Biblical context and his language is a lot more stronger.

They will never get rid of Elizabeth as long as the ratings remain high. Don't apply rational or logical arguments to the thinking of television producers; you may as well teach a bear to tap dance in a kilt.

If the pot gets stirred up and the press picks it up it is FREE advertising, publicity, interest they didn't pay for -- and that is better than sex (I may exaggerate but not much)

. It doesn't matter if she is as dumb as a turnip, or if she has nothing to bring to the table but regurgitated Fox News blather. Lizzie Borden is the reason for people tuning in.

Men hated Howard Cosell on Monday Night Football. They never stopped watching because of Howard; in fact, many who detested him couldn't wait to see or hear him again.

Love her. Hate her. She's there as long as there is the potential for a cat fight.

It's another classic sign of the irony that is today's Republican Party that Elisabeth Hasselbeck, in her attempts to perpetuate negative stereotype she likes to call 'the angry black man", has instead further strengthened the "dumb blonde" stereotype.

Dare I suggest she has done so...unwittingly? I suppose it was a foregone conclusion.

Full of sound and fury, signifying...um....
