Keith Olbermann reacted to the "SNL" sketch in which Ben Affleck portrayed him as a cat-loving pompous freak Monday night, and also to a report that the McCain campaign was "tickled" by the sketch.

He had previously told Time's Ana Marie Cox, "Honestly, everybody deserves a laugh but if on the weekend before the presidential election they spent more than seven seconds bothering with ME, the campaign staff has even less of a clue than I thought." He had also blogged at DailyKos about the incident, saying:

In terms of my whole career I really haven't been doing this that long (1997-98, 2002-date) but don't presidential campaigns have more to worry about on the day before the election than me?

Am I misunderstanding? Aren't two breaths spent on a sketch done on Saturday Night Live, two breaths not spent calumnying Obama?

Monday night, Olbermann continued with this "Who, me?" line of attack, but also brought evidence — in the form of cue cards — that Sarah Palin was scripted to compliment Tina Fey for her impression when she appeared on SNL but ad-libbed and left the line out.

The funniest part was Richard Wolf. I couldn't stop laughing.

I thought Ben Afflek did a horrible Keith. He was way too angry. Keith is smug, sarcastic and grins and puffs a lot.

As with many posting here, my Wife and I love watching Olbermann every night, but we thought the Affleck bit was HILARIOUS. We were glad that Keith was such a good sport about it, and even showed off the cue card he got signed from Affleck. Very classy.

My only criticism is that Affleck didn't have the voice down at all, though he was spot on perfect with his facial expressions.

Affleck's Olbermann skit made me reluctantly hate Affleck less. It was really, really funny! I don't see how anyone could think otherwise. He was also hilarious in the sketch where he was a UPS guy hitting on the Target lady....

That just goes to show how dangerous and conniving Sarah Palin is. She did her own little snarky comment on SNL made specifically to MSNBC. She warned MSNBC that when she took office on January 20th, she might cause their license to be revoked. Or, their channel might just disappear.

She said something to that effect and she looked real SNARKY when she said it, even though it was supposed to be something done in fun. It reminds us that "A LOT OF TRUTH COMES FROM JEST".

If you had looked at her face, you would have known she really meant those words. She is a real d.e.m. o.n!

Exactly. It wasn't funny at all what she said last night because you could picture her revoking their license!

My husband said she would probably do it too.

We didn't laugh at her piece at all.

Affleck's attempt was almost as entertaining as Olbermann himself but not quite.
Sarah Palin's handlers should have shown a sense of humor and allowed Palin to chat with the pranksters. Cutting her off mid sentence was a mistake. It left the bigger impression that they had made a terrible mistake and that they couldn't trust her to ad lib her way out of it. Probably true.

You go Keith. Make them eat their words. Prove your point and keep on proving your points. I love it!

I love Keith and think Ben Affleck did a great job in his satire of Keith. Keith may appear to be a little too serious at times but he always tells it like it is and has done so when it wasn't the popular thing to do. Keep up the good work Keith Olbermann.

Wow, haha, "that's not the Frenchy part of Canada." A bit of a gaffe on the "Frenchy" there...

Keith is brilliant, clever arrogant, well informed and consistant. But he can be offensive to many people. He is MY favorite. Much better than Chris Mathews

I love Keith Olbermann and I absolutely thought Ben Affleck did a fantastic job with his impersonation. Hilarious. Keith can take it.

Uhh, mredder4, I believe Olberman was talking about the McCain campaign. I believe he accepts that he will be parodied. I believe he was suggesting that the McCain campaign would be better served spending its time on the election, not commenting on how much they enjoyed Mr. Affleck's impression of Olberman.

They have what is called in baseball, "Rabbit Ears." They don't know what to ignore.

It was a horrible impression of Olbermann and not funny to boot. He missed all the subtle voice inflections that make the guy such a caricature.

OMG. What does calumnying mean?

A false statement maliciously made to injure another's reputation.
